Even if we assume that he’s wearing a ladies shirt for a moment… Why does he have that stethoscope? Is this what doctors do when the patient is waiting in the exam room?
Don't we all?

Wait what, where did you get that ladies shirt?
azi@mander.xyz 1 year ago
Either the image is an accurate facsimile (DNA was wrong and the guy’s wearing a men’s size shirt (buttons are on his right side)) or the image was mirrored (DNA was correct and the guy’s wearing a women’s size shirt (buttons are on his left))
ImplyingImplications@lemmy.ca 1 year ago
Shirt buttons are sown onto the left side of women’s clothes and the right side of men’s. The buttons on his shirt are on his right side.
I’m assuming OP means maybe the DNA model has the helix spinning the wrong way because the image was flipped horizontally, but that would cause the shirt buttons to be on the wrong side for men’s clothes.

You can tell what type a base pair is by listening to the tone it makes, but it’s very quiet so you need a stethoscope.

I once saw a shutterstock photo of someone using a large soldering iron on a motherboard, holding it like a pen (so holding the hot part). Stuff like this is so poorly done and fake, it’s at the level of porn acting.

Here is the sacred tome you refer too m’lord wiggle;
Seriously though, is this the one you were thinking of?
I’m fairly sure this is the original I saw; But searching for “woman, soldering iron” results in many copycats, so it’s hard to say if this is actually the one from back when, or if my mind just misremembers it as such.

Not OP, but I’ve seen this one years ago. Defo the one.

Most useful stethoscope ever
Nikls94@lemmy.world 1 year ago
Quick! How do we know he’s a doctor? He could be a scientist with this cost! We need a stethoscope!!

That’s clearly a selfie made with iPhone, which is why it’s mirrored…
LordWiggle@lemmy.world 1 year ago
You see both his hands. So someone else would have to use the selfie camera but also make sure they are not in frame. I mean, it’s not impossible, but it’s highly unlikely. As much as I would like to blame Apple products, it’s more likely this is not a mirrored image but human stupidity. Seeing what’s happening in the world these days, I always assume everything is human stupidity unless there’s proof it’s a technical error or something. Although everything Apple related is also human stupidity.

OK very funny but its probably the camera doing a horizontal flip and the photographer not knowing to flip it back.
friend_of_satan@lemmy.world 1 year ago
Judging by the buttons on his shirt, probably not.
muntedcrocodile@hilariouschaos.com 1 year ago
I didn’t even think of that. That’s clever nice spot.

He likes wearing female blouses and doesn’t appreciate your judgement.

It's obviously some smoothed Z-DNA

“That’s it, Dr Scientist, you’re not taking this seriously. YOU’RE FIRED!”
“Good! I’m a maverick, I don’t play by your rules! Fuck you, here’s my badge and my gun!”
“Wait, why do you have a badge and a gun!? We didn’t issue you those… You work in a lab!”
ILikeBoobies@lemmy.ca 1 year ago
Wow, okay racist
hperrin@lemmy.ca 1 year ago
Flip it horizontally?
Soup@lemmy.world 1 year ago
You could flip the image but the thing about a spiral is that it’s the same no matter you turn it around in space.
hperrin@lemmy.ca 1 year ago
If you physically spin it, yes, it wouldn’t change its direction, but I was talking about flipping the image horizontally.
melsaskca@lemmy.ca 1 year ago
That pic is valid because it’s a lab in Australia. Sheesh! Use some common sense.
blackbrook@mander.xyz 1 year ago
If you hold the picture upside down the dna spirals the right way.
