In my experience people who genuinely live like that are very non-chalant about it because it’s just normal to them. This sounds like someone who’s just moved to the middle of nowhere and is trying to cope with that decision.

Clearly a photograph of a horse-drawn bus from the 1890’s would be black and white.

I wouldn’t read it too literally. The answer isn’t treating someone to a theme park visit every time. The point is they got chatting and went with the flow. That’s what it takes. Doesn’t lead to a friendship every time but eventually it will.

- Comment on What is lunch like in exclusive private schools for rich kids? 1 week ago:
I went to a private school that fits those criteria for a couple of years. It was a scholarship, my family isn’t overly wealthy. Smaller classes, lots of extracurricular activities like diving, golf or skiing and two teachers per lesson. Still it was surprisingly shit. First of all unsurprisingly about 90% of students were insufferable brats that would literally pull the “father will hear about this” card on teachers which unfortunately tended to be effective. Also everything had this elitist vibe about it despite really being not that special. This also goes for the food. It was expensive, prepared by an actual chef and yet it wasn’t anything to write home about. Looked like restaurant food, tasted like cafeteria food. I switched to a public school eventually and the cafeteria food there was on par regarding quality and much more reasonably priced.

I don’t see much of an issue besides the heinous presentation. It’s pretty much the crackhead version of this actual food item:

Would you want to eat shrimp that’s prepared to be “only half as radioactive” though?

Game development time keeps increasing while console development cycles are decreasing. We got a gaming bubble before GTA6.

Cutlery doesn’t spark, only thin pieces of metal do. It does get very hot though. If you use a stainless steel fork you can submerge it in a cup of ramen and it’ll heat up noticeably faster in the microwave.
- Comment on do you use non violent communication at the workplace? 2 weeks ago:
Yes I do if I really need to clean the air or if I want something from the boss but I’m a factory worker so with my colleagues the need rarely arises. If it does it’s pretty funny to see how seamlessly you can actually switch between brutal workplace banter and sharing something genuine. It doesn’t have to take a lot of time if you’re upfront with it.
