Giant corporations have proven no amount of profit is too much. There needs to be some guardrails. And some form of preservation of the games your loyal customers have enriched your company to access.

- Comment on Is it morally wrong for an immigrant or naturalized citizen to "keep a low profile" and avoid speaking up against the government in order to minimize the risks of denaturalization/deportation? 4 days ago:
I’m not saying it’s a “stupid question”, but I don’t understand it. How and why could it possibly be considered “wrong” or even a moral issue at all to keep a low profile?? Saying/doing nothing is our natural state, no one can say it’s bad to just neutrally exist! Don’t let anyone tell you you have to speak up, especially if it endangers or harms yourself or your friends and family.
If you’re referring to the current US administration, they’re not acting lawfully and are currently trying to arrest or deport legally-protected people and even citizens! You don’t owe them or anyone else anything, certainly not at the expense of you or your family! When you’re acting defensively and protecting yourself, it’s not immoral. This is how hostile to immigrants we’ve become that you are even asking this question… ☹️
TL;DR: Absolutely not. You do you, and be safe!

The “barkeeper keeping track” method seems to mostly be used at very small bars, or places where they know and trust you. And not even all of these! Instead, at most places you’ll “open” a tab by giving them your credit/debit card. They’ll either physically hold onto it or pre-authorize it for a certain amount to confirm it’s valid. Throughout your time there you’ll tell them you have a tab for each drink/item and they’ll add it to it each time. When you’re ready to “close” the tab and leave, they’ll charge all those in-progress items and give you back the card (if they held onto it). They’re basically just making sure random people don’t overhear your name and are saying “put it on Jim Doogle’s tab!” So they still have to monitor it, but nowhere near as bad as keeping track of who had what and trying to catch them before they leave…

Republicans are hopelessly out-of-touch. The rich ones have no idea what it’s like to work for a living,. The non-rich ones live in a terrifying alternate reality mental prison where there’s scary, liberal, trans immigrants behind every corner coming to take their guns away.

Ocarina of Time. I’m biased because of nostalgia, but I genuinely think it’s the best game ever created. It took everything that was great about the SNES classic A Link To the Past, brought it into 3D as an early N64 game, and improved literally everything. The atmosphere, the gameplay, the story, the time mechanic, the music… It’s not perfect, in fact these days it’s trivial to break many things in it with glitches, but I think it’s absolutely the best.

Debated not posting this comment just because the subject itself is so icky:
I am so glad that this is the term now. Some freaks argue that CP where a minor isn’t straight-up r*ped is “victimless” (too young, they didn’t know they were recorded, etc). The new CSAM term is a line in the sand and makes it clear that any material featuring minors created for that purpose is a product of sexual assault even if they “consent” to it. Legally, they can’t consent and the only way to create the material is to harm innocent children.
Anyway, I’m going to go find brain bleach like videos a kitten and a giant dog being best friends or something now…

- Comment on Bestbuy decided to use fucking **DOORDASH** to deliver my order, I couldn't cancel it. Today I was supposed to get it, and I saw the driver stealing the package after marking it as delivered. 2 weeks ago:
What does this even mean? Who would “check”, and why? It makes no sense. If someone says I signed for a delivery or agreed to a contract, I guess they’d confirm the existence of a signature before filing it away, if that’s what you mean… But again, if it wasn’t me, I could easily prove that signature doesn’t match my past signatures and dispute it with my bank or in court. To reiterate: a random delivery person won’t know what my signature looks like.

I’m sorry, but that’s a dumb argument. The presence of a signature doesn’t imply you accepted a shipment. Even if you know my name, you have no idea how I sign it. It’s trivial to prove a forged signature doesn’t match the one on my license, credit card, lease, etc…
