Things Misha has yelled at me about today
- I opened the curtain and disrupted her warm nest of sun and insulation. Ok that one’s fair - There was a big stinky turd in the litter box. It was hers. She’d just laid it. And while I was cleaning up that litter box she went and dropped another one in the OTHER litterbox because we have more than one cat so of course we have more than one freakin’ litterbox. - There was a turd in the other litterbox - While she was yelling at me about the turd situation Cerys climbed up on the sun-drenched dining room table. The entire table is in front of a north facing window and is sun drenched. It is six feet long. They are two foot cats.
- I attempted to use logic at her re the whole dining room table usurpation. - Cerys continues to exist. A cat she has co-habited with since 2012. A cat who literally came out of her. A cat who only exists because she decided to get railed on the hood of our old datsun. This is my fault. - I slid her across the polished floorboards like a fat beige hockey puck. I regret nothing.just_kitten@aussie.zone 1 day ago
I feel like Misha is perhaps the cat equivalent of a cranky chain-smoking nonna who is pissed off at the world (life is too hard and nobody understands), and at her son for still living off Centrelink (back in the 90s).

That is a Very Good Job.
LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 1 day ago
So good! How did you get that gig?
Duenan@aussie.zone 14 hours ago
Or the real answer was I’ve always been good at it and someone noticed when we were short handed with staff so the duties fell on me now 🤦
Duenan@aussie.zone 14 hours ago
Oh just by luck when I was in uni and applying for jobs that came up.

I ordered some retro handhelds for the boys to get on Christmas shopping early. I got the R36s because I found it cheap and I’m pretty impressed.
Buttons feel good, it uses Emudeck on the frontend so everything looks nice, and they even shipped with Stardew Valley on the SD card. It boots up, takes a while to load but it boots up. I know one of my boys in particular is going to love this once they get them
RustyRaven@aussie.zone 1 day ago
Ded.
Van is packed to the gills, nature strip is 100% hard rubbish and I’m just waiting on the fridge and freezer being picked up so I can go home.
I declare tomorrow a day of rest.
anotherspringchicken@aussie.zone 1 day ago
You deserve the rest! Must be a relief to have all the old house clearing sorted
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 1 day ago
back from beach. I am wrecked. It was a long walk and over some difficult rocks to get to the shelly beach but it was AWESOME
it’s so very very beautiful there
I am going to crash now and will post some pics for you all later 😘

If you are looking for a good old high quality Pixar movie that makes you cry, go watch Elio.
tombruzzo@aussie.zone 1 day ago
I heard it’s good, but just wasn’t that well promoted. I think I’ll check this one out sooner rather than later
bacon@aussie.zone 1 day ago
Yeah the poster doesn’t say much about the story. I went because I saw good reviews on reddit.
LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 1 day ago
First day of freedom (for two weeks) and I played video games on a PC with a friend. Turns out cybersickness is a thing. I felt like throwing up. But besides that, it was kinda fun.
The anxiety hasn’t completely gone away because of failing, and just worrying about my future, but I think the more I do stuff, the more I will be in the present.
melbaboutown@aussie.zone 12 hours ago
Oh it’s real. There might be settings you can change but some games are much worse for it than others
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 1 day ago
YL dyed my hair. I think it’s gone nonna orange. I don’t wanna look under the towel yet. Gonna need more than a couple of beers tonight.
melbaboutown@aussie.zone 1 day ago
Some purple toner or shampoo might help? Otherwise if it was bleached it might need another go to get the stubborn red tones
Catfish@aussie.zone 1 day ago
Oh dear. What did you use? Somethings you can go straight over the top of to correct, some need a bit of a break in between.
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 1 day ago
Now that it has dried it doesn’t look to bad. I’m used to seeing grey.
Duenan@aussie.zone 1 day ago
It’s cold.
I think I’m going to crawl into bed under some warm covers.
just_kitten@aussie.zone 1 day ago
I was trying to not turn on the heater this evening but I caved around 7pm. Now I’m very very sleepy…
Duenan@aussie.zone 1 day ago
That was my thinking with the heater. I normally wait till 9pm because power off peak starts then.
Couldn’t take it anymore and hopped into bed streaming tv.
Catfish@aussie.zone 1 day ago
Boyo has lost the only key to the car. I hear dollar signs clanging at high volume.

Not a long term solution, alas
useless_modern_god@aussie.zone 1 day ago
and that’s why I have AirTags.
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 1 day ago
Is it lost lost like out in the wild or playing hide n seek in the house somewhere?
bacon@aussie.zone 1 day ago
in the fires of mount doom
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 1 day ago
We all know serving sizes are a lie. Here’s another one. You’re browsing the hair dye aisle because you have more grey than actual colour these days and it takes you awhile before you finally make a hopefully rightful choice. End result is NEVER what is indicated on the box.
What are some other lies we are told?
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 1 day ago
How big the chip packet is compared to how many chips there actually are.
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 1 day ago
The size of Ice creams are laughable too now.
MeanElevator@aussie.zone 1 day ago
The look on people’s faces (in commercials) when they get into a new car.
Sure it’s cool, but not euphoric.
anotherspringchicken@aussie.zone 1 day ago
That’s the same as ‘people eating salad’ face in ads
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 1 day ago
I’ve gotten into new cars and my first reaction is puzzlement. What the fuck are all these buttons for.
useless_modern_god@aussie.zone 1 day ago
The Twelve Apostles along the great ocean road is an egregious lie. I demand a refund.
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 1 day ago
Give us your bank details. I’ll refund you.
Duenan@aussie.zone 1 day ago
How good a maccas burger looks on tv and how big it is but in reality they’re super small.
Also the perfect basket of french fries.
Nope, didn’t get that either.
SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 1 day ago
Any fries are perfect fries (okay except the soggy kind)
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 1 day ago
I said the same thing to Spinny!
My burgers come out huge yet the burger places burgers look like someone has run over them.
SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 1 day ago
The menu picture vs what actually comes out!
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 1 day ago
Yes. Those ads with the latest burger some cunt’s tryna flog looks like a mountain with lashings of bacon. When you get it, there’s 2 scrawny bits and looks like it’s been slam dunked into the bag.
Duenan@aussie.zone 1 day ago
I have done my tax return!
tombruzzo@aussie.zone 1 day ago
You’re an inspiration. I better not leave mine too long
RustyRaven@aussie.zone 1 day ago
Before paying to have someone pick up my old fridge and freezer I decided to try Marketplace to give them away. It did not go well. Apparently “must be picked up ASAP today” is easily confused for “pick up maybe tomorrow” or “I’ll deliver to you tomorrow in Thomastown”.
melbaboutown@aussie.zone 1 day ago
Urgh. I was really sick last night. Stupid stomach.
Melbcat seems a tiny bit uncomfortable again. Right as I was calling the vet to say she was feeling a bit better, but asking about the ibd flare possibility and dealing with it if this continues/comes back.
spoiler
They’re being professional about it but oh I can tell they’re really sick of being called. They were like oh great when I said she was improving and very eager to put the issue to bed but right as I said it I saw a little tension in her whiskers and purring. And a squint.
I’ve agreed to monitor her and I guess this is probably mild… I’ve given her some meds to settle her a bit and am hoping everything will just be a blip.

I waited two weeks for this lamp I ordered from Bunnings. Then they tell me it’s not made anymore and refunded me. Now I need to find a new lamp. I wanted that lamp
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 1 day ago
4 hours.
I’ve hit the wall. This week has been brutal and I just need to go to bed till tomorrow.

So I’m finally done with the uni stuff for two weeks. I will have to find out what’s going to happen with the failed subjects. Might have to go to uni for an extra year which I’m not loving, but I feel like this is the only way for career progression, unless I do a trade. That’s unfortunately not happening because I’m not very mechanically gifted. But I’m going to stop worrying about what my life will be like in ten years time because I will trust that whatever happens, happens.

Art Of Rally is such a beautiful game. My only criticism is I wish it was better optimised and could run better on lower spec hardware. It doesn’t look demanding, but I’m sure it’s got a bunch of shaders going on that eat up processing power.
Because it’s a game that deserves to be played at full settings, 4k60fps. I can do it on my big computer, but it would be great if others could experience full settings in this age of handhelds
Force_majeure123@aussie.zone 1 day ago
The Hamilton soundtrack is so good 😭
