My garage smells like poop? Noticed it last night when I came home and it’s still there today (and stronger). Going to have to clean it out over long weekend and find the source. Couldn’t see any animal poop on the ground. What else could it be?

Do you know where any nearby municipal plumbing is located?
tone212_@aussie.zone 1 year ago
Mmm I don’t think it’s close by. I’m starting to think something has died in there like a mouse.

A phantom shitter!
Human, dog and cat shit are very distinguishable from each other so if you can rule those out that leaves possum or rat. Or perhaps something has died in there.

Is everyone’s fire insurance paid up? Cos at work we’ve had TWO burned out trucks in our back alley so far today. One was a furniture mover’s truck (this morning) and now the fire alarm went off cos the next door block of flats had a small truck with a burning engine stuck in the garage door. Alarm was stupid loud too - had to finish up phone calls cos neither one of us could hear the other over the noise. Boss now gone down to bound and plunge and lose his temper. Not that that will accomplish much.

If anyone’s looking for a stupidly large decoration but didn’t think the alien was quite right for you, there is a new option on Facebook you might like to consider.

My recent funky vivid dreams may be due to my CBD oil treatment.
Not complaining.

$123 out of pocket for a skin cancer checkup. $205 upfront, $82 rebate.

Staying alive is getting more and more $$$$

I mean, bang for buck I don’t think a doctor needs to be doing the scanning a tafe course would do. $400/ph to the clinic for scanning people seems a huge money maker.

GP or dermatologist? I was thinking I should start getting these done, due to not being very sun safe as a kid and teen.

Gotta look for a skin cancer checkup clinic that has the fancy camera and overpriced operator.

Garden ramble: Aphocalypse
I’d been letting the garden coast while unwell and was aware of a bad infestation of aphids on the worst affected plant… left it because I had bigger fish to fry. Came out today and all the potted jack be littles were absolutely covered. Spent ages scrubbing and wiping the leaves down with soapy water. The point for delicacy had passed so instead of spraying the soapy water I was scrubbing the leaves on both sides like dirty dishes and rinsing them like a salad. The dousing with moisture will absolutely encourage the mildew and the dish soap may harm the plants but I just had to get the pest burden down quickly. I also fed them to help replace what the pests took. Some leaves were already dying - those got snapped off and immersed to drown the load of aphids on them (so they couldn’t just go and climb back on - or rather be carried back on by the ants farming them). I’ll have to either plant a different variety next time or seriously plan out the disease and pest control. Organic and heirlooms seem to need a bit of attention. I saw one ladybug but honestly the rummaging and soapy water might deter it. I don’t see a great outcome for these plants if I can’t keep this in check. At this point the aim is to keep them kicking just until the most mature fruits ripen. The ones in ground and the golden nuggets are also affected but not as badly. I left them as I needed to get back in to attend to Melbcat and the magpie water had just run dry.

The post flu-vax haze is combining beautifully with the complex task I’m on at work.

Did a solid day of uni stuff. Made essential progress on the easiest stuff.
Next up is time to be data wizard, start generating plots, and when that all feels like too much I shall start with the easiest bit of writing: the method…

Tech success! I figured out why PuTTY wasn’t reading serial data from the ancient data measuring device I had to use (some setting in device manager buried under 5 layers)… and despite massive internal blockage in my head from actually sitting down and learning basic R, I managed to troubleshoot why my supervisor’s R script for cleaning the output data kept not working. Something something dataframe object column number mismatch something. Good old google making me feel smarter than I am

Oooh that is a win.
