If someone does this I’ll slow down and take my time.
Similarly if someone is being a douche driving I’ll slow down to 2 miles below the speed limit.
I have no illusions that they’re learning anything. At that point it’s petty revenge.

That’s cool except you’re no wasting everyone’s time and not just the person directly behind you.
If someone is driving recklessly or tailgating they’re the ones creating the problem, not the person choosing to respond by slowing down slightly. Driving 2 mph under the speed limit isn’t exactly grinding traffic to a halt. If someone is driving dangerously around me I’d rather force them to slow down if it makes things a bit safer.
I used to do this too. Until last year.
I was at home, playing with my cat Leo, when in a span of 30 seconds, he went from being perfectly fine, to not being able to move his back legs, and yowling in pain. I needed to get him to the emergency vet quickly. The car in front of me pulled this, driving slow, blocking the road, not letting me get around him. Unfortunately Leo didn’t make it, and that driver’s behavior played a huge part in the lasting personal trauma I’m still dealing with.
The thing is, you don’t know why they are driving the way they are. Maybe they are an ass hole, but maybe they have a medical emergency. It isn’t your job to enforce the traffic laws. I know I’ll never do it again though
You have a horn and no excuse to not know … — … is SOS. You also played a part.
Or when you try to use contactless only to be asked the amount of tip to give to the cashier, before being able to pay.
This is missing the previous 10 minutes of them:
Fucking move it Dorris, you haven’t got long left.
Write a check, honey. Them slow ass bitches behind you will love it.
And get that huge wad of coupons out and see if any of them are valid!
Hooray uhp, JESSHICUH!
I came into this thread to find this comment just to make sure it was at the top
Not enough JESSHICUH fans in here.
Welcome to Aldi.
Yeah hurry the fuck up.
Another reason to prefer self-checkout. People in line get fanned out across multiple machines.

Pro tip if you’re handing over money: give the coins first, and then notes. It makes it much easier, because coins on top are likely to slip off and require more careful handling.

Is throwing the change at them not acceptable?

Y’all still using paper money and coins?
I haven’t used physical bills in twenty years.

Yeah in truth I haven’t used physical money in ages either. Tap to pay is so much more convenient, and even before cards started having that, inserting and entering your PIN was still way more convenient than the annoyance of cash. If I find out a place doesn’t take card, I’ll usually just walk out.

It’s incredible that cashiers aren’t taught this.

We were back when I worked retail, but they are making no money and don’t give a fuck about their job
Valmond@lemmy.world 3 days ago
They do it only to people they hate.

Was about to reply to shout out all the workers who do exactly this!

As a former retail worker- we know. If you get the bills first, it’s our passive-aggressive way of saying you were a dick.
We also know that tone doesn’t translate to corrective action forms. No one is getting written up for telling you to “have a sparkling day!”😘

and how do you put away the notes without dropping the coins?
With coins on top the notes, you can simply slide it into your coin purse and the put away the notes.
Zagorath@aussie.zone 3 days ago
With coins on the bottom, you can close your hand over the notes and the coins will sit comfortably in your palm. Then you slide the notes out easily.
