Thanks for the additional info. I am generally not super knowledgeable on politics so I will go check out your links :)
- Comment on Centuries-old leasehold system to be abolished in England and Wales 1 day ago:
There was a vote in 2011 to change the voting system that the idiots of the UK voted against changing. I was a kid then and that was the first time I voted but even as someone who has almost zero interest in politics I could see that moving away from fptp was the (what I thought) obvious choice.
Apparently not.
After the absolute farce that was brexit as well I don’t believe the the population of the UK are able to make a good decision that benefits the country and general populace. The majority of the population aren’t able to employ critical thinking and are just easily lead towards shitty decisions.
I don’t believe that even if we did get another vote to change this terrible system that it would actually pass unfortunately. I have no faith in the ability of this population to make good decisions.

In the UK? I doubt it very much. It isn’t beyond possibility but under floor heating really isn’t very prevalent here.
- Comment on How is my bedroom being heated? 1 week ago:
You are in the UK now so the chance of it being underfloor heating is very slim indeed unless you are in a new build from the last 5 - 10 years or so, even then I would doubt it though.
It is probably a combination of the amount of insulation we put in walls, floors and roof spaces along with the fact you downstairs neighbour or neighbours if there is a basement will be using theirs and obviously heat rises.
I know many people here that live in flats above other people that will never switch their heating on and live comfortably.
It is likely that those radiators are your only heat sources coupled with presumably a gas boiler to serve both the radiators and your hot water taps. There will be some kind of controls for it somewhere though, not all systems with have a thermostat in place. My current house has 3 radiators with no thermostat. It is either on or off or you can set time intervals for it to switch on and off by itself but there is no temperature based control.

XIII was (and still is) a fucking awesome game. Such a breath of fresh air back then trying something entirely new in terms of art direction on an FPS and nailing it!
- Comment on I Bought a PlayStation Vita in 2025 1 month ago:
I do like it with those controller attachments, it does improve it further still be sacrifices a bit of portability in terms of no longer being pocket friendly.
I do agree it can be uncomfortsble after a time but for me that is more after hours opposed to minutes but everyone’s bodies are different and I can see why is may cramp some peoples hands quicker.
I find with the steam deck it is just a bit too large for me, it makes it feel a bit unwieldy and unstable in my hands for some reason. For me I think the sweet spot in terms of comfort would probably be something in the middle.
It probably has a lot to do with the kinds of games I play on it as well though. On the vita I played a lot of jrpgs, it really was a beast for that genre, and with those games it can be a lot more menus with turn based combat etc. That means I’d often play with it flat on my lap and not gripping it like a controller which is definitely a less cramped position.
- Comment on I Bought a PlayStation Vita in 2025 1 month ago:
Yeh IMO they are too large. I have a steam deck and I barely ever use it outside the house because it just isnt really that portable in terms of being able to fit it in a bag with all the other stuff you may need when going away, it takes up more than half of my bag space.
So I reverted back to my vita and the experience of actually using it as a portable is miles ahead. Like you say I can slip it in my pocket when transferring between trains or the like and it doesn’t fill half my bag when not in use.
I’m a big guy so dont have the smallest hands either but honestly find the steam deck a bit uncomfortable where as the vita just feels good to me.
- Comment on I Bought a PlayStation Vita in 2025 1 month ago:
I love the vita, feels so good in your hands and is a great size for actually being portable.
I dont use mine as much as I used to but for a while when travelling it was my only system and I had a lot of fun with it.

- Comment on What MMORPG are you playing, and why? 2 months ago:
The last MMO I properly played was Black Desert Online. It is an absolutely amazing game but with disgusting monetisation. It did however also become a dangerous addiction in my life. It is currently free on steam I believe though!
Since that experience I haven’t really played any MMOs, I tried out Throne and Liberty a few weeks ago and that was the most boring couple of hours of my life this year.
As a huge Guild Wars 1 fan, GW2 was one of the biggest disappointments ever.

Extremely random one but the TVs in Max Payne show a slideshow of some drama show where the dialogue goes
“My Lord”
“My Lady”
“but my Lord, I must insist!”
Fuck knows why that lives rent free in my mind.
- Comment on are my eating habits preparing to work out stupid? 3 months ago:
This is too vague to give an in depth answer as we don’t know your ultimate goals or your diet as a whole but not eating before working out isnt bad. Some diets such as intermittent fasting involves fasted work outs.
Changing both your diet and work out habits can be hard, especially if you do it all at once which can become demoralising and hard to maintain over the long term.
I encourage you to research different approaches towards your ultimate goal and make smaller changes over time with a view of changing your outlook on food and exercise for the long term and making it stick.
- Comment on if you workout and run, would you recommend a merino wool base or mid layer for autumn/winter? or am I going to break it? 3 months ago:
Sorry, should have done so, something like this Nike one.
- Comment on if you workout and run, would you recommend a merino wool base or mid layer for autumn/winter? or am I going to break it? 3 months ago:
As someone else mentioned I would recommend a compression type base layer. You can get slightly different thickness ones that will help in different temperatures.
I had a Nike DRI Fit one that lasted for 10 years, and would have lasted me longer if I hadn’t left it on the roof of my car at one point and lost it. You can get far cheaper ones as well though, my current one cost me around £15 and has lasted me 5 years so far and hasn’t stretched out of shape or have any holes in so far and I use it pretty much everyday during the winter ones.
They keep air flowing and move sweet away from your skin to keep you dry as wetness will make you colder.
In my opinion morino wool is one of the worst things I have tried. They make you sweat a lot more, dont move the wetness away from your skin exacerbating the problem and making you feel very uncomfortable and fall apart in no time when compared to compression garments.
I’d say save your expensive wool for some when else.
For other layers I tend to use a cotton t shirt over top the compression layer, maybe two t shirts if it is very cold and then add in things like gloves, something to cover your neck and face and then a wool hat of somekind.
It is always best to be able to remove these layers where possible whilst you are running. In time you’ll find what works with you. I’d often start out with a few more layers for that initial start then once you get going progressively remove stuff until comfortable. I’d always rather be very slightly cold then too warm when running.

I have never thought it is worth it, even back when WOW released, the economy was better and I was a teenager with a lot more disposable income I would never pay for a subscription to play a game. It is just a terrible way to run a game and I have always thought that.
I’ve never really understood why people would support that kind of model personally, there has never been a justification in my book.
Back then Guild Wars 1 was and always will be the far superior game when put up against WOW in my personal opinion and once I’d paid for that I could play it every month without further outlay. Shame how they ruined it with GW2 (unpopular opinion I’m sure but I stand by it xD)
- Comment on Cycling will be more dangerous due to council clampdowns, say campaigners 3 months ago:
It is bliss in comparison to all other options!
My city has a mix of every possible configuration, from no cycle lane, randomly abruptly ended ones, shared paths and the properly separated ones and I would take a properly separated bike lane over all else any day of the week. It is safer for literally everyone involved!
- Comment on Cycling will be more dangerous due to council clampdowns, say campaigners 3 months ago:
Not really, cycle lanes should be part of a road and not a pedestrianised area. All cycle lanes that go along side footpaths with no clear division other than lines just end up being full of idiots obliviously walking unaware of their surroundings.
This is both frustrating as a cyclist and dangerous as bikes move at much higher speeds, especially with the advent of electric bikes allowing unfit people who are not used to controlling a bike and being aware of their surroundings to ride at much higher speeds.
Pedestrianised areas should be for foot traffic only, bike lanes should have their own place alongside roads. The best ones I have used have a curb either side so the footpath is higher than the cycle lane on the left and the road is lower than it on the right making a clear division of traffic.
The fucking worst ones are shared paths and ones with just a line to denote a cycle lane next to busy pedestrianised areas. It is safer to ride on a road with no cycle lane than to try and contend with idiot foot traffic paying no attention, looking at their phones etc.
- Comment on Cycling will be more dangerous due to council clampdowns, say campaigners 3 months ago:
Couldn’t agree more, bikes belong on the road not on pedestrian pavements!
These delivery drivers are a fucking scourge as well. I have had a few run ins this year with them driving their mopeds through pedestrian areas.
I hope the council do clamp down on this bullshit behaviour but also invest in cycling infrastructure too. I’m lucky where I live has a pretty good network of cycle paths but it is still lacking.

Following the blood trail in the pitch black in particular I always remember for some reason, probably the creepy baby cries that accompanied it.
