Same here.
I will spend my day drinking coffee while I laminate and cut things today.

I’m pretty
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 11 months ago
I’ve figured out how to stop the migraines. I feel so fucking stupid lol
It’s my posture. For some reason, unless I have good posture, especially when sitting down, my right shoulder hikes up a lot, which starts the chain reaction.
Sigh. I lost friends because they couldn’t understand how a “headache” could be that crippling.
TinyBreak@aussie.zone 11 months ago
eyes dart around to check if anyones watching before sitting up straight myself
TheWitchofThornbury@aussie.zone 11 months ago
Posture. It’s important. Deportment they used to call it. The school I went to taught it - as a preventative measure for all sorts of health problems particularly for girls but I guess the same would apply for blokes. I’m still feeling the benefit of it even now in my advanced age.
Maybe consider doing Alexander technique or something to help you get into good posture habits. My personal opinion of yoga is not as positive as many people. Fine if you’re young and healthy, but if you’ve already got a physical problem then you need something that focusses on correcting that problem imo. I am a fan of Alexander technique for fixing pre-existing problems but a good pilates teacher could probably do likewise and be much cheaper. And there are zillions of them around everywhere, hiding in every shopping strip with vacant or hard to rent shopfronts.

Thank you! Will look it up and give it a go.
I had perfect posture circa 2020 but then lockdown killed my fitness stuff for a while.

hugs, I hope you get some relief , it’s no way to live

I was feeling really sick today but the mini pumpkins have sat in their paper cups so long that I sucked it up and planted them out.
Hopefully they do okay

Doing a little DIY project (currently at the what-have-I-done panic stage) and noticed the little pack of sandpaper I have from a “variety” shop is priced at $1.50. Must have bought it in the 80s for it to have been that price.

Got the headphones in the office now and they’ve been great. I can leave them plugged in to work straight with the laptop or have them connected to the laptop and my phone wirelessly. I’m going to get some cheap plastic cables so I don’t feel it rubbing against my shirt, the only downside to wires

I like my big over ear wireless headphones, but I can’t do wireless little ones. I’d lose 'em in an instant!
tombruzzo@aussie.zone 11 months ago
There seems to be no pure wired USB C headphones. You need to get Bluetooth headphones that can also do audio over USB. These ones don’t have a headphone jack though, that’s the only thing they’re missing

I played Doughboy Hollow until it broke. Awesome band live too. RIP Ron Peno.
Catfish@aussie.zone 11 months ago
The cats have voluntarily left uneaten biscuits from dinner. Can’t be feeling well, furcoats in the heat and all.

My aunt thinks that keto will help me feel less anxious. Hmmmm, where is the science behind that
Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 11 months ago
The only physical effect I can think of that might be relevant is that sticking to such an extreme diet occupies all available brainspace, leaving no room for anxiety. But you’d pay a heavy price for not doing anything other than watch your diet and stress out over whether something was or was not keto. As with any extreme diet, you really have to make sure you’re getting all your dietary needs met, and extreme diets really really limit your options. And they all have a built-in guilt for failure stress included.
I have a feeling that taking this option really isn’t wise, but you do you. If you wanted to try it for a while to see if it helped, well why not. But I also wouldn’t beat myself up if it turned out not to be helpful.
And then you can say to aunt, well I tried it and it didn’t work for me. Which might shut her up.
LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 11 months ago
Yeah I think in this case, the costs will outweigh the benefits.
It doesn’t really work for her either because she’s keto one month, and then the next, she isn’t.
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 11 months ago
I think her controlling your diet will make her feel less anxious.
StudChud@aussie.zone 11 months ago
[deleted]LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 11 months ago
Thanks for the link on B6 :) Yeah such a restrictive diet would not work well for me
Force_majeure123@aussie.zone 11 months ago
I’ve personally been on keto on multiple occasions and definitely noticed improved mental health, including reducing anxiety.

I watched Judgement in Nuremberg for the tenth time last night.
Every single scene is genius.
Last night I took particular note of the opening argument of the prosecution , what a brilliant mind and writer . Makes the crime and guilt clear www.youtube.com/watch?v=di3Xh95aXp8
life in Germany, how people fooled themselves into support of evil www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ui6xrGQzmhs
I am tired. 😔

Started season 3 of Invincible last night, only got up to episode episode 3 but maaaaan. That show can get under my skin unlike anything else.
spoiler
There’s a fight where someone should probably die. the “hero” is in the wrong, the “villain” is too but someone crosses a line and I’m just sitting there totally enthralled muttering “Kill them. Kill them now”.
MeanElevator@aussie.zone 11 months ago
I think they set it up nicely in EP2 with the Cecil backstory.
It’s a bit on the nose, but good at showing Mark’s conflict on being a hero and always doing the ‘correct’ thing.
Am so looking forward to this season
TinyBreak@aussie.zone 11 months ago
spoiler
The fucked up thing is Mark is in the wrong and Cecil is in the right, but Cecil handled it so so poorly. he just HAS to be in control. You telling me the dude has no training on how to disarm a situation like that? At no point did he just sit down and say “Mark, let me explain everything to you. You may not agree with me. I dont expect you to, but my job is to protect the planet. What happens when the Viltrumites come back? Morals dont mean shit if the planet is destroyed.”

a legitimate academic video on medieval killer rabbits , I kid you not www.youtube.com/watch?v=4o-Vqu6Z5fY

That was excellent (though I feel he was curbing his accent) see also why so many knights jousting snails?
melbaboutown@aussie.zone 11 months ago
Because they don’t know which one is the decoy snail

Today I am listening to Quincy Jones
the sixties were weird www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EKspREtVZQ
another 60s song, not a song I expected on this album. exodus jazz www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XS5eEG0PCU
Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 11 months ago
Didn’t they use the Soul Bossa Nova in Austin Powers?
Nath@aussie.zone 11 months ago
They sure did - but this video is sublime. I’m very happy with this little time capsule of weirdness.

Has anyone tried a weighted blanket? Is it comforting or just annoying
TinyBreak@aussie.zone 11 months ago
hit miss. Some nights its a godsend. others it just annoys me. and no rhyme or reason as to what it’ll be on a given night. worth a try though, especially if you can get one second hand.
melbaboutown@aussie.zone 11 months ago
Thanks. They do seem expensive

Catfish@aussie.zone 11 months ago
Is anybody playing Last War? It’s fun, but driving me nuts. For one the obscene in game purchase prices (not a hope guys!!) but mostly because everything is so damn small. I’m blindly clicking on things because the instructions are microscopic. Must be intended for a pad not a phone.
