At least someone with some sense can observe the amount of people on an elevator and nope out of that collective act of stupidity. I say that qualifies as graceful degradation.

But do you know that they can just rip a wheel that has been damaged enough to become a burden?

- Comment on How come they don't make generic drugs for cats and dogs. I love my sisters buddy to death. Its just weird that all my meds are generic but animals are name brand. I just hate spend 250 every 3 mon. 6 days ago:
You just match the active compound and dosage. Then you can buy any generic pet drug. Over here, it’s the norm. Pharmacies won’t even stock up pet-specific drugs if they have a generic human counterpart. Works just fine.

We had an IQ test as part of the performance review process in a company I worked in. It did not have any effect on the review, it was just there. The dudes with IQ above 120 were insufferable to work with. The dudes with IQ below 85 were insufferable to work with. Both managed to do about the same amount of work. The dudes who scored between 100-110 were a pleasure to work with, and practically carried the other two groups.

I do not know whether to be disgusted or sad. Probably both. I cannot comprehend a meal that does not contain a proper blend of spices and various interesting textures.

Buying in bulk, investing in yourself, buying durable, better-quality stuff. It’s costly to be poor.

Ofc, since many mushrooms take hours or days to kill you, this process fuck-all.
- Comment on Let's ask this AI app! 2 weeks ago:
There’s a whole process for it. First, you smell it. Then rub it on skin. Then taste a tiny piece. Then swallow a tiny piece. Then you eat it.

I grow stuff that’s best from the garden vs a store. Tomatoes, spinach, beans, peppers, herbs, etc. All on my roof. Got dirt from when they dug up the foundation for a nearby house. Got fertilizer from leaf litter and mowed grass from the park. I grow enough of the stuff to not have to buy them.
- Comment on As a Chinese American, if I wanna travel internationally, is it better to just say I'm American, or pretend to be a Chinese National (to hide from Anti-American sentinments)? 4 weeks ago:
Lol ‘suspiciously’ as if the Japanese didn’t copy all of China’s homework when it came to literature.

Depending on where you’re going, you could probably get away by saying you’re Korean or Japanese. Much better than American or Chinese.

The craziest thing is monocropping in developing countries without mechanical harvesting. You’re already using human labour, why sacrifice your yield by growing a single, automation-friendly crop?

- Comment on Why are fruits and berries healthy, even though they are mostly just sugar? 6 months ago:
All that sugar is bound up in fiber, making it slower to release and keeping it from spiking your blood sugar into pre-diabeetus. Grind that same fruit down (juice), destroy its fibers, and now you got diabetes in a can.
