I’m in the US and all my friends in tech are socialists champing at the bit for a well organized general strike.
Maybe it’s because I live in a city?

I keep trying to tell people this. People are so set in their ways it hurts.

Escape From Tarkov is so fun. It’s such a shame that the game is a flaming pile of hot garbage. Runs like absolute ass. You can lose tons of progress from the game bugging out. The game is a huge grindfest. It’s stupid expensive with predatory tiered pricing and addons. And the devs lie through their teeth about shit constantly.
No game has come close to matching its feel though.

I definitely enjoyed my time with B4B. I don’t think it’s a really good game, but it definitely wasn’t as bad as everyone was saying.
Haven’t played in forever though so maybe it has gone to shit in the meantime.

Oh wow I remember Star Control 3! I think I got that game for free from a PC Gamer Magazine demo disc or something like that. I loved it but never finished it. The alien races where so unique and interesting! I loved saving the dog aliens by paying off their debts. Their ships were insanely good in combat.
I remember there was a conversation event where you can convince the bad guys to let you join them! And then the game ends and it just says you died. Good times.

Hmmm maybe we could try to bring back the good thing without bringing back the bad thing. It would be nice if it were possible.
- Comment on How were maps created back in the day? 2 weeks ago:
Your question is not stupid, but it is overly vague and broad. An equally vague and broad answer would be: "They did their best with the tools and knowledge they had, tried to copy other cartographer’s work (and failing that, their techniques), and otherwise just guessed. Failingthat, they made it up in ways that would benefit themselves the most.
Source: I read the Map Men’s book not too long ago.

I still think about Battlerite from time to time. Very fair high skill arena fighting game that’s faster and more to the point than MOBAs that were dominating the PvP scene at the time. It had a great launch then everyone stopped playing it.

Pros travel around a lot. I love hopping into community deathmatch and seeing pros warming up. If you manage to kill them even once in a fair-ish head-to-head, it’s a great feeling.
Then you look at their K/D vs yours and snap back to reality.
- Comment on What character is the king of plot armor? 4 weeks ago:
I love Akira but Kaneda has serious plot armor. He gets shot at by soldiers with automatic weapons countless times and survives. That and the collapsing buildings, psychics, and other hazards he just shrugs off. Meanwhile, Chiyoko gets stabbed by some random scumbag.

Okay, but if someone does a little “gasp of surprise” at nearly every piece of information/news during a conversation, is it then socially allowed to throw them out of the nearest window?

Not that I don’t wanna teach USA a lesson, but I feel like stopping all trade would be like shooting yourself and a bipolar bear each in the foot in an attempt to see who bleeds out first. Answer: nobody bleeds out and everybody is pissed, especially the bear.
Also, I think USA gets a lot of avocados from California farms and Mexico so those might stay cheap regardless.
Definitely displace/replace the tech giants though. Monopolies suuuuuck.

Oh yeah I know that. I meant as a progression sort of thing. There’s little ramp up to new mechanics most of the time. Sometimes there’s tutorials for new mechanics on the boss levels!
But like I said, I still love the game. It’s just something I noticed.

Rhythm Doctor is a good rhythm game. My only real complaint is that it’s short. I would have liked more levels that gradually increased the complexity of newly introduced mechanics. You get a short tutorial and then it’s straight into the frying pan! And some mechanics are only in a single level!
Other than that though… Loved it. Great game. I get the songs stuck in my head a lot!

I remember reading Walden and thinking that even many many years ago this dude failed to be entirely self sufficient and still had to head back to town for random shit. It’d be so much harder nowadays.
