  Is it true Houses in the US are sold by these real estate agents and they all make advertising with there face on a sign in front of houses? Or is this a meme. Also do you typically find a lawyer because they have a huge billboard somewhere at the highway or is this also a meme. Just a European checking in if he watched too much TV

    real estate people are mostly selling themselves, not the house. yes they plaster their face on their ads almost always.

      Funny. Over here no real estate agent would ever put a sign in front of a house for sale. They don’t even tell you the address until you message them so you can’t look at the house on your own.

    Do you not have real estate agents in your country? Like 90% of real estate is sold by agents in Sweden as well. We don’t always have those signs, but yes on advertising and such it’s always their face included. It’s an expensive and big decision, so it’s used to instill trust or something.

    It’s all true to some extent. I still remember seeing random local lawyer ads on broadcast TV as a kid. Vern Fonk was his name. The ads were effective I guess.

    Depends on the agency so not all do. But probably 1/3 of the signs I see in my area have a selfie.

    Yes and yes, but no I never have. Generally I would like to think majority of people use agents that others have used and recommend or they are friends with. As for a lawyer the few times I needed one was either family or research online.

    Idk anyone who has seen a billboard and said oh yeah thats my best option, im gonna call them. Outside of movies.

    Do you not have agents over there? We can also do this all ourselves, but the paperwork and rules normally make it something you don’t want to do yourself, same with lawyers.

  After my husband and I bought a house our realtor invited us over for pizza to celebrate. No joke, best pizza I’ve ever had.

  that reminds me that there was a Ford dealership that was planning on offering a free bible, american flag, and voucher to buy a gun with every car sold on the 4th of July. Seems like they eventually changed the voucher to a gift card you could use for anything.
