Not exactly. CGI wasn’t really taking jobs directly from people, it was making people more efficient and changing the paradigm of artistic works by people. AI is wholesale taking jobs that could be done by people, and making it far shittier.

In my personal, anecdotal experience?
Over the last 2 years, I have seen a sharp uptick in cash transactions as more and more people become poorer and poorer in the western US.
Prior to that, about 30% of all transactions were cash basis for about 10 years.
Before that, at least 50% were cash.
