The 2025 is his Attack on Titan version.
How did he do that?

Everyone is just ignoring the " why does he look younger in 2003" comment.
22 years of time will make you look older, even if you get a bunch of ugly ass plastic surgery.

We weren’t ignoring it, it’s just not worth responding to.

They’re gonna look at this shit in a few centuries in the same way that we look at old chinese foot binding . I agree with others that having this expensive and very visually apparently procedures done must be some sort of way for them to flaunt status and wealth or something. It’s hard to imagine someone thinking this looks good, it’s nearly uncanny valley.

Why’d they make that one Muppet out of leather?

These days I’m just assuming that anybody with strange ostentatious plastic surgery is a rightwing nutbag.
May or not be the case but it’s accurate enough. Especially because they’ve chosen this as they’re defining look.

Swelling from intense sunburn?
Just wait until it “heals” and the dna damage will become apparent.
db2@lemmy.world 14 hours ago
Botox and sunburn, probably from a tanning booth.
snoons@lemmy.ca 8 hours ago
Ah, so the same dna damage but with added neurotoxin goop.

A lot of people don’t realize the image is heavily edited in the first place, so I’m gonna just start my comment by saying that, but the wet look you’re talking about is definitely a trend. You can look up “dewy makeup” sometime “glowy” is used but that’s often less extreme. Matte used to be super in, then people would be using matte highlights, then people went for more natural highlights (aka not painted on but where the product lets the light hit it and gives the effect that your skin looks somewhat wet). I’m not actually super into makeup so someone more knowledgeable can definitely correct me if I’m wrong, but that’s my overall understanding. You’re not just imagining things, that’s definitely been a more recent trend.

There is some kind of incentive structure to look this fucked up. There is a whole different world where looking like a parody of yourself is virtue signaling, shows that you can afford to look like such a cartoon. It’s the same reason maga face is a thing. Humans aren’t attracted to it physically, but you can tell they that they have enough money to do that to themselves and not have to feel embarrassed.
