I’m equally happy with 13 or 14.

I don’t know how to fix it. How do I get my neighbors to come back to reality and to lean on love and compassion, rather than hate and retribution?
- Comment on Do you think that Trump is the most hated U.S. president? 1 day ago:
Trump will be remembered in the same category as the guy who greenlit the Holocaust?
I mean, Trump is a bad dude and a terrible president, but c’mon man, employ some perspective.
- Comment on Do you think that Trump is the most hated U.S. president? 1 day ago:
Harry Truman killed up to 246,000 people, mostly civilians. Trial of Tears claimed over 10,000 lives. All who choose war and violence are evil people.

I have no reason to believe that the google authenticator app on my google phone doesn’t register and record that it’s being used to log into XYZ website, and further that XYZ website is not then sending back unique identifying info to Google about me when ive used the code to log in.
I’ve lived with tech long enough to know that if they say “we absolutely don’t,” it really means they probably do.
Like when they swore up and down and gaslit us that our phones aren’t listening to us to generate ads.
How many lies can I believe before I begin assuming everything is just another lie from a liar?
Guess im paranoid.
But that whole thing ignores that it’s an annoying second step with another device. Like “you want to log in? Thread a needle with the string in your pocket first…”

Correct. It solved a problem that didnt exist for me.

I dont care for 2fa. Not interested in having my phone connected to my computer, and i dont like having an extra step when logging into stuff – especially an extra step that needs me to use a second device. Id honestly rather risk getting hacked over ever having to use 2fa again.

Reddit is lousy with them. In general, I assume MOST of the post-2024 posts and replies I see on any subreddit with a strong subscriber base are made by bots. It’s why I came to Lemmy.

Looking at you, hiking trails within a two-drive from Seattle. It’s like being in a fucking shopping mall in the 90s, except now some people have bluetooth speakers hanging from their REI backpacks.

I make the same face when I walk by to take your mobile order. Confidence is key to getting away with it.

I think people forget that nobody is racing you. If someone merges into traffic in front of you, theyre not winning and youre not losing. It’s all OK. You dont have to be upset.

Listen, pal, your beef shouldn’t be with folks like me questioning if your “rave review” stippled with flowery adverbs is an ad. If you’re just some dude writing, then you’re just some dude writing.
Your beef should be with marketers and advertisers who for the past decade+ have dishonestly inserted their scumbag bullshit ads into social media threads pretending to be just another excited commenter/content contributor leaving rave reviews with flowery adverbs. Go be pissed at them.
Glad you like your Anbernic. I have an RG556 and two other lesser Anbernic devices. The lesser ones both stopped turning on after about a year – for no good reason. The RG556 still works 16 months after I got it. It’s fine at what it’s intended to do, but sucks as a Steam Link device.

The bad produce is important. When they fire all the human pickers and replace them with AI robots, you will take the produce that youre given and you’ll be happy about it.

I have a brand new 2026 colorado and the infotainment/bluetulooth is all fucked up, and sometimes it just doesnt detect my key fob. There’s a maintenance memo out for it,l but no fix, meaning service department can’t really do anything until a fix comes down. So im just made to wait for them to get around to fixing it. Thanks a lot, GM, you motherfuckers.

He is moving the forest service HQ out of washington DC and shutting down research. Ive not heard that he’s closing regional offices.
Ive always felt like people think of the National Forests as National Parks or preserves, but theyre not. National Forests are mixed use allowing for recreation and industry.
Moving the HQ to the west makes sense to me since that’s where a bulk of the forestland is. And we know that stupid people dont like smart people and their ideas, so research was bound to get torpedoed by Trump.

Glad you have a PMA (positive mental attitude) about stuff. Im not as grumpy as i seem either, I don’t think, but i have little faith in the goodness of humanity.

I mean, you’re not entirely wrong, but TK killed 3 and injured less than 30. Harry Truman killed vastly more people than TK and he’s essentially lauded, as most ex presidents are.
