Welcome to Lemmy where everyone’s correct always and the downvotes don’t matter. No worries.
Also, dude, we’re the same age. I’ll hit 43 before the year is up.
I look up vacuum everytime because I know it’s spelled weird. I don’t know another word with two U s off the top of my head.
In my late 20s, I memorized how to spell necessary because I always got it wrong… Seemed like a necessary word to know how to spell.
See you around!

Friend, since this story is so important to your personal history, you may want to memorize the spelling of vacuum for future retellings. Just a friendly heads up. All good things to you.

At least you get free breakfast buffet at strip clubs. (Or you did the last time I went to one more than 20 years ago.)

She’s right – He didn’t take it far enough. By him saying he would forgive $10k for those earning less than blank, meant he believed he had the power to forgive student debt. With that power, he was like, “nah fuck most of 'em. Drown in your debt.” I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – Biden was a huge disappointment.

It very literally was just a cover letter. Nothing different about it than any other cover letter for any other job.

When I was a hiring manager, I treated it like a writing test to make sure people were basically literate. Reading and writing was super important in the field I was hiring for. I couldn’t get the same from a resume. That was before everybody was using AI to lie about everything to everybody else.

Maybe they’d judge you, maybe they wouldn’t. No way of knowing. Sorry that you feel so mistreated by hypothetical strangers. I wasn’t attempting to drum up any sort of trauma for you. I’m sending some lovingkindness out into the world for all living beings right now, and I hope you can get a little hit of it too. Be well.

Kevin and Tony would definitely move a sofa for a person with disabilities. No doubt in my mind. They’d still expect pizza and beer tho, that’s non-negotiable.

Moving a fridge down a flight of stairs is easy enough – who’s your dolly guy?
- Comment on How to move a sofa 5 weeks ago:
In my house we have two trucks and a utility trailer. My wife used her truck to help her friend move a sofa just this Sunday. It’s not difficult to get things moved in America.

See a professional, and you can always give a panic attack workbook a try. Sounds like anxiety disorder (I have the same). These two workbooks really helped me turn it around:

Do we not separate Muppets muppets from Sesame Street muppets? The only Muppets muppets you mentioned were Kermit and Miss Piggy. Also the yellow bird from Sesame Street is Big Bird.
The Muppets muppets were more of an 80s thing, and then they spawned movies. Kermit, Miss Piggy, swedish chef, fozzie bear, animal and so on are Muppets muppets.

I don’t know how to fix it. How do I get my neighbors to come back to reality and to lean on love and compassion, rather than hate and retribution?
- Comment on Do you think that Trump is the most hated U.S. president? 2 months ago:
Trump will be remembered in the same category as the guy who greenlit the Holocaust?
I mean, Trump is a bad dude and a terrible president, but c’mon man, employ some perspective.

Harry Truman killed up to 246,000 people, mostly civilians. Trial of Tears claimed over 10,000 lives. All who choose war and violence are evil people.

I have no reason to believe that the google authenticator app on my google phone doesn’t register and record that it’s being used to log into XYZ website, and further that XYZ website is not then sending back unique identifying info to Google about me when ive used the code to log in.
I’ve lived with tech long enough to know that if they say “we absolutely don’t,” it really means they probably do.
Like when they swore up and down and gaslit us that our phones aren’t listening to us to generate ads.
How many lies can I believe before I begin assuming everything is just another lie from a liar?
Guess im paranoid.
But that whole thing ignores that it’s an annoying second step with another device. Like “you want to log in? Thread a needle with the string in your pocket first…”
