Get very opinionated and say a lot of anti-Nazi stuff in admin-controlled subreddits like r/news. Shit on Elon Musk and DOGE. Celebrate the death of Charlie Kirk. Say Fuck Spez a lot. You’ll be permbanned in less than a month. Their AI admin is turned up to 11 when detecting ban evasion (from humans, bots not so much), so it will be difficult to make an account again without getting permbanned instantly.
It worked for me.

I’d rather let them back outside than them getting squished or drown themselves in the washing machine or be eaten by the cats 🤗

Yeah it’s over 100 years old and has been through countless owners and tenants lol

Same here. I think they’re kinda cute tbh. They are just a very mild inconvenience in the house just because I gotta go find a piece of paper for it to crawl on and put it outside, lol.

They’re related to stinkbugs right? Smell bad when squished? I’ve never intentionally squished one.

There’s a Boxelder tree in the neighbors yard and our garage, table and tarps get absolutely covered in them every summer and fall. They’re cute lil bugs but not in those numbers, lol!

It’s unlikely that you will go undetected; reddit has ways of identifying the device you use based on the information the app takes from your device. That’s why it’s just as important that you need to use a new device as it is using a VPN to obfuscate your IP address.

My honest advice lines up with others. Let it go. It’s a bot infested shithole with admins that are drunk on power and even the mildest slightly left leaning takes will get you permbanned again.
If you really feel that you have to go back to the abusive relationship that is reddit dot com, I’d suggest using a VPN and only use reddit on a device you’ve never accessed reddit from before. Otherwise, they will match your IP and/or fingerprint your browser/device and you’ll be permbanned again within days.

Apart from a lot of us (myself included) appreciating high quality animation and story that didn’t predisposition itself to be dumbed down for their intended audience, the main mantra of the Brony movement was “Love and Tolerance” which in the early days was practiced pretty cohesively, even extending to aggressors who would pop in and call everyone gay/other slurs to try to get a rise out of others, and whatnot. We’d just be like “ok, that’s just like, your opinion man, we love you anyway” and proceed on with our lives instead of engaging them in arguing and namecalling. At the time your typical garden-variety internet troll didn’t really know what to do in that situation. The Encyclopedia Dramatica page on Bronies was especially amusing because they admitted they didn’t have any viable way to cause flame wars or upset within the fandom.
As the fandom got bigger of course it was going to get people that take the bait so from my perspective it wasn’t as much of a unified front in later years as it was in the beginning.
But I was part of Mumble/Teamspeak servers, Minecraft servers, Steam groups etc and they were all very welcoming. I think it was just that most of us were well intentioned people that enjoyed us a good cartoon, lol.

I was one of the wholesome Bronies. Met a lot of great people that I still keep in touch with to this day.
The movement and the mindset really helped me in my darkest time.

You’re better off without it tbh. This is coming from someone who had an account on there for 13 years, it used to be okay, but big corps, bots, and especially the owner Spez absolutely ratfucked it into a shadow of its former self. It’s no longer reliable as a source of information or entertainment since it’s roughly 60% bots by volume. You never know if you’re actually talking to a real person on the other end.
If you really want to get back, you’re going to have to be careful about it. You can use a VPN on a device you’ve never accessed reddit on before, and you will likely not be detected. But again you have to be really careful. Even so much as opening a reddit link with your new account logged in on a device/IP your banned account was on almost guarantees your new account will get permbanned within a couple of days. They are unreasonably heavy-handed with ban evasions.

Some already do.
And man pants aren’t that big of a hurdle to get used to. Just need to take measurements of waistband and inseam and you’ve got the size to look for in mens pants. Thats what I like about them: they have much better sizing labels than the nebulous/arbitrary size numbers on women’s pants.

Several rows of bright light bars mounted on the wall, not sure if your landlord will allow that tho. A mirror could probably boost your plausible deniability.
- Comment on How open are you about yourself to others online in general? 2 months ago:
Depends where on the internet I’m in.
On here and when I was on reddit, I’m a bit more guarded and speak in broader terms in regards to family/friends/experiences so as not to pin too many identifiable specifics on me.
In another long forgotten corner of the internet that like at most 30 people congregate in, I’m a bit more open but not overly so.

Exactly. And after the first martyr gets domed or swiss cheesed, all of the armchair analysts will come out of the woodwork creating a prevailing opinion like “well it would have been better if he had done X instead of Y, rookie mistake, what an idiot” and life will go on fundamentally unchanged besides that person now being dead and posthumously tut-tutted at.

- Comment on Are platforms like reddit just "internet noise" and bots or just genuinely the darkest parts of humanity? 4 months ago:
Yes. You can and would stumble across the worst the Internet had to offer on /b/. Hardcore shock porn, CP, gore, extreme animal abuse and torture, etc. Was not a good place to hang out for anyone with a shred of decency. There’s a reason they call it the asshole of the Internet.
- Comment on Are bots on lemmy? 4 months ago:
There are still several tells that haven’t completely been ironed out. From years of reading bot comments on reddit, I’m able to discern a bot from a human pretty quickly, so long as I am able to check comment history and time stamps.
They have this weird uncanny valley pattern of speech and it sticks out like a sore thumb when I come across it.
