I actually don’t particularly care about either one, but some people who hated corporate memphis must be seething at how it got replaced.
Fuck you, one day I’ll have something like this.

I’m expecting Couboy Curtis to bust in and then see all the furniture yelling at the word of the day.
Peewee’s-playhouse-core
I oove the original Memphis. It feels like I’m on a weird 90s spaceship
For those, like me, who have no idea:
Corporate memphis would’ve been fine if it wasn’t - you know - corporate. If it had lined the halls of youth hostels like those dancy rubber guys it would’ve been just another quirky minimalist art style.
What fancy rubber guys are you thinking of? Have an example?
I’m gonna guess Keith Haring
“Corporate Memphis” is just a particular art style that people dislike. “AI-generated images” is not an art style. I assume AI could generate something in Corporate Memphis style if you wanted it to. No one is replacing human-generated Corporate Memphis art with AI-generated art in another style. People choose Corporate Memphis for a reason. If anything, they might choose to use AI-generated Corporate Memphis now that the option exists. But people who would previously use human-generated Corporate Memphis art are not using AI-generated art in some other style now.
I didn’t know it was called Corporate Memphis! I actually prefer it to endless dead-eyed stock photos, personally. At least someone was experimenting or focused on a goal when making it.
Yeah, didn’t know it was called either that and like it as well. Maybe because I’ve known it from before it was coopted by evilcorps. I think of it a classic graphic design style used in cool children’s books and on posters.
People choose Corporate Memphis for a reason
I always assumed that reason was that it was cheap.
nah, it’s supposed to be classy, professional and playful – originally developed to make Facebook seem like less of an evil and soulless corporation
I hated corporate Memphis.
Now I hate AI art.
I still hate corporate Memphis though, it’s still awful.
I hate corporate Memphis as well, but I do not get the meme.
people hated on corporate memphis, and wanted it to be replaced by something.
well, it got replaced by these generic AI artstyles, which are that way because the gen ai they use is based off the same data set, and no one bothers to put any creativty into the prompts.
turns out the real slop was corporate art all along
They all suck, but the top-right one in the AI-generated section grinds my gears down to the atomic level. I can’t begin to explain the pure undiluted hatred I feel for slop extruded in that style.
From “Corporate Memphis” to “Corporate Mephistopheles”.
If AI is so smart why are the expressions different in each. Not only does the style change, but the tone and her emotion vary.
One of the reasons I’m pretty neutral on AI art is that it mostly replaced even more soulless stuff like corporate Memphis.
Clip art was peak corporate graphic design.
I hate mob face AI so much
Even AI crap is better than that utter garbage.
Don’t worry, they are one and the same now

Yeah, it’s nice. Someone made it back when Facebook launched its “Alegria” style back in 2017. According to Wikipedia, this was the original Corporate Memphis style, and the company that developed “Alegria” were quite honest that their assignment was to do “image softening”
