I’d been warning my man he needs new work pants because of the holes in the crotch area. Today he was wrapping a pallet and wondered why there was a cool breeze. Forgot he was wearing boxers, has a look and one of his nads was hanging out.

I reinforced the crotch of my work pants with old rainbow thermals. Externally it looks a bit like a rainbow vagina.

😂
He usually wears briefs so you really can’t tell. I got a re-enactment when he got home. I’m not complaining.

Apparently I’m super duper ultra low in iron, B12, and vitamin D. Gotta go to a compound pharmacy for the B12, so I get can some big phat pulls made up to take once a fortnight.
Doc reckons it explains the weird muscle aches, super bad depression times, and uber-lethargy. But everything else is fine, all my other vitamins and minerals are noice, no indications of diabeetus or anything, phew 😅
Once I’ve been taking supplements for like 2 months, I have to get another test to check if I’m uptaking it well. If I am, then I’ll ask about perimenopause and getting my uterus yeeted.
Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 5 days ago
You can get B12 vitamins by injection from a doctor. Cost might be a factor. I haaaaated taking Maltofer. If you can source stinging nettles these are one of the richest sources of easily digestible iron after meat. But they gotta be steamed/wilted or they sting. If you want to go on a forage for nettles up and down Merri Creek this coming weekend - I’m up for that. Its prime nettle season right now.

did they warn you about Nexium (the antacid)? Also blocks iron absorption, so be careful on that.
Eagle@aussie.zone 5 days ago
It also causes issues with bone density.
StudChud@aussie.zone 5 days ago
All g I don’t take antacids so I don’t think I’ll have issues with that thankfully
SituationCake@aussie.zone 5 days ago
If you are very low, you might be better off with an iron infusion. Iron supplements can take a very long time to get levels back to normal, could be 6+ months. That’s a long time to be feeling exhausted and potentially suffer digestive issues. Unfortunately quality of life impact of iron management is not taken very seriously by many GPs. (Probably because it’s mostly a women’s issue). There will be a cost if you go through the GP, but I believe there is a clinic at Royal Melbourne hospital to get it done for only the cost of the prescription? Might be worth checking it out to see if you’re eligible.
StudChud@aussie.zone 5 days ago
Thank you! I’ll check that out! :)
TheFailedNinja@aussie.zone 5 days ago
Are you vegan/ vego by any chance?
StudChud@aussie.zone 5 days ago
Yeah somewhat vegetarian; I’m not strict, like I’ll eat a steak or a roast, or something with meat in it(soup, stir-fry, etc), but I generally eat pretty vegetarian. I’m also generally OMAD too which wouldn’t help at all.
TheFailedNinja@aussie.zone 5 days ago
The supplements work great. Get the 10000 vit D and take it daily. Don’t bother with the lower ones.
mertn22@aussie.zone 5 days ago
Exactly. The supposed multivitamin tablets have about everything in them but not enough dosage to be useful.
SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 5 days ago
I find iron supplements a little digestivly challenging. Maltopher was better than Ferrograd-C. Syrup was better than any pills, but way more expensive.
StudChud@aussie.zone 5 days ago
Sweet thank you!!
Pilk@aussie.zone 5 days ago
Seconding Maltofer as the gold standard, though it is priced accordingly!
When I need it, I pick up Wagner Ferro-Sustain (cheap and relatively kind to the gut) and Cenovis Kids Vitamin C (250mg is enough to complement the iron without causing much further upset on an empty stomach).

The latest Windows build fixes the details view in File Explorer, filenames show proper units (KB, MB, GB) instead of it all being in KB. They must be digging into some ancient code for that.

Work kicked my ass today, but I still managed to knock out an awesome chicken satay dish for dins. No nail painting tonight as I still have half a container of plastic to unload tomorrow. Tomorrow night shall be nail painting and maybe some wine.

Ugh tried to play cyberpunk 2077 and it crashes. Tried to play Sacred 2 and it freezes.
Can a game just run, I just want to play a game as a big titty lady ffs
Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 5 days ago
tombruzzo@aussie.zone 5 days ago
Two completely different games to have crash on you. They must be for different reasons
StudChud@aussie.zone 5 days ago
2077 because my pc is just ever so slightly old, I think. Sacred 2 because the Steam version has a memory leak issue I can fix with a community patch, from my cursory net search lol
I cracked the shits instead and had some popcorn lol

Some of the best jams I have by myself are not recorded and I kinda like it that way.
It’s like this thing that lives only once then back to the ether.

For me it’s the choons made and then there’s a HDD / hardware failure / reinstall but you’ve mixed down 50+ versions of it…
You’re like “yep guess err hmm… that one’s done”.

Ugh. Two days left of my twelve week deficit. Got back to my pre-xmas weight and hopefully avoided my annual, compounding, winter weight gain.
Porridge, protein powder and peanut butter pls.
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 5 days ago
I salute you dude. I’m about to cut for maybe 2 months and I’m smashing as much pizza and kebab type foods till the end of the week lol

Doing some computer stuff. I like the computer. You can get into shenanigans territory if you don’t treat it like a potential mess though.
SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 5 days ago
I am in water pump shenanigans mode. Just ordered a new starter capacitor hoping for a $16 fix rather than a new pump. Everything else looks fine. Even the capacitor looks fine but it’s a cheap replace/test, cheaper than a good enough multimeter to test it with.
themaninblack@lemmy.world 5 days ago
Aw nice I’m sure it will work out. One time I replaced a water valve in a washing machine for like $12 when my housemate wanted us to all pony up for $600 for a new one. I still feel pride. Hope you get that satisfaction.

Girlfriend is feeling better now she’s home. She gets her cast off in a week, a few days taking it easy and she should feel a lot better
