    Burst into tears after applying for 3 call centre jobs. I can’t keep being unemployed and no one else is giving me the time of day. Job provider is essentially useless, they haven’t put me forward for anything as far as I know. I wish it was all different, but it feels like no matter what I do nothing changes. And I’ll end up in a call centre again, and I won’t make it out alive this time. There’s no other options anymore. Everything costs so much and I’m nothing.

    It’s hard not to think that there’s something fundamentally wrong with me.

    I’m tired, boss.

      Why only call centres? If you’re looking for work that doesn’t require any particular qualification, there are heaps of options. Retail, hospitality, admin, data entry, reception, etc. The process of job hunting is always shit. But hopefully you can find something that is at least in a different industry, so you don’t start out with the past bad experiences on your mind? Sending lucky vibes your way.

        I don’t get any responses from other industries tbh. I have applied for retail and warehouse pick packers, but yeah, just silence. No call backs or emails or anything. I have had two or three interviews in the animal industry, but the only industry who seems to want me is call centres - because I have a decade of experience I guess.

        I’m just feeling so hopeless rn. I know it will get better, but right now it feels like I’ve wasted so much time.

      It’s not you, finding a job absolutely sucks. Everyone thinks so backwards when it comes to hiring. You need to fit in a box, but not too much, having too few skills is bad, but having too diverse a skill set is confusing.

      You’ll find something and it won’t completely suck soon

      I don’t understand it. I am so grateful to the Seagoons, time is precious, and that they would choose to spend time with me, to help me, makes me teary.

      Compare to my MIL, who after I worked hard to clean her house, to cook, to look after her, she would nit pick and even outright lie . She would lie and lie about how my cooking is inedible. And she calls other people to say how horrible I am.

      It’s not complaining, it’s abuse

        Your MIL doesn’t seem very nice.

        For my ol’ girl it’s just a series of unfortunate medical things that had a go at her mind so can’t blame her.

        For the cooking (I’ve been blamed a lot too which I’m sick of) have to remind her she taught me. Usually ends the complaint lol.

        That’s 30 cents in the jar right there.

        Just complained. Fairs fair may as well kick it off.

        Ok, so using Achillespunk’s Bingie Mod. Gives you the netflix look, but without the system load of bingie titan. Also still supported.

        Once Kodi was up and running and had inhaled all my suitably named symlinks and been skinned, then I started with custom “Hubs”. We have Movies and Shows by default. I’ve added TV, which includes IPTV streams from all the free to air aussie channels, plus SBS, iView, and AFL/ Cricket for His Lordship. There is also another hub for Documentaries.

        Then came the hard work. Filtering the IPV channels so they displayed in their own hub in a sensical manner and you could navigate them freely. Submenu shortcuts to commonly used things. Set the spotlight to rage because fuckit, why not. THEN I had to customise the documentaries one so it showed both movies and the tv shows but only from the documentary path. Then I worked out how to get the “Continue watching” “Recommended for you” “recently added,” “Spotlight” fancy pants displays going as well including both movies AND shows. THEN I had to make sure the documentaries were all excluded from the normal TV / Movie sections.

        This I have done.

        I also installed Flirc because we use a couple. They’re awesome.

        This is the base build. I’ve been playing with that arseload of embedded PCs I got for free, so built a master running on Mint (I did give libreelec a burl, but I don’t like no underlying OS shell), wrote a script so you can change the username and system name and I’m just cloning the drives. One for the brewery that His Lordship can customise further with his podcasts and music, one for the bedroom that will pretty much be as is, and then I need to clone to another SSD for the full blown PC in the loungeroom and test migrating my RetroArch setup.

        Same! I’m like a magpie when it comes to nail polish lol I just want to collect all the colours and eat them or something. That Lips Tulips polish is so lush 😍

        I reckon the Cinna-Snap + Lips Tulips + a gold tip would look so classy in a gaudy way (which I love).

        Milligram’s got a sale on from now until Monday, selling Pilot Iroshizuku ink for about half what it normally costs. $20 bucks a bottle for each of those.

        The Iroshizuku range is meant for fountain pens, so I don’t know exactly how it would go for brush calligraphy (which I know is your thing) or dip pen use, but it’s very nice fountain pen ink with a heap of interesting colour options. I normally can’t afford to splurge on it as much as I’d like to

        I’ve picked a bright peacock-ish blue and a “winter persimmon” red-toned orange. My daily driver is a very dark green from another brand, so I feel like the three contrast well

      My boyo introduced me to his favourite book series, which may have backfired for him sometimes when he’s going to sleep and I’m all “wasn’t it cool when that character did that?”, “I can’t believe that character did that!!” or start up with theories of what’s going to happen.

        Our conversations aren’t quite at that level yet. I have to be able to infer when one of my kids says, “Why’d he say, ‘ahhh’?” that they’re thinking about the part where the T-1000 kicks the helicopter pilot out whilst the helicopter is still in the air. I need to remember helicopters were mentioned in passing recently and extrapolate from there

    Had a weird conversation on the train on the way home. Lady was telling me there’s murders everyday . I was like, 😐. I asked, Here in Melbourne or the whole of Australia. Who and where. Is it criminal on criminal, is it gang violence. She had no idea only that she hears the news on the radio everyday.

    I’m not into the news everyday but this sounds like right wing scare mongering.

    Looking out on my clean, mowed, weeded and tidied front garden is so good. That is one less stress and worth every penny.

      I’m envious, mine is looking quite tatty at the moment. It’s hard at this time of year to get a patch of weather that is dry enough to mow - although at least once I do the next cut it should not need another for ages because it’s not growing much now.

    Left hand:

    • 1x coat of 393 Cinna-Snap
    • 1x coat of 255 Lips Tulips

    Right hand:

    • 2x coats of 460 Travelling Light
    • 1 coat (and a couple of touch ups) of 450 Reflection Pool

    I will be removing the colours from my right hand, and using different base colour coats with the 255, to see if it changes the colour. I love colour theory.
