Here in the UK, those yellow capsules are often recycled to use for concealing drugs in your anus. Happy Halloween!
No one is safe from these psychos. Please stay safe

n3m37h@lemmy.world 2 years ago

There is no way you can cram a space blanket into a kinder egg.

Triggered…
That chocolate is awesome, it’s stupid AF for it to be illegal in the US.
I may or may not have been busted by customs carrying several dozen of these, and may or may not have not been caught a few other times…
netburnr@lemmy.world 2 years ago
They are now in the US they just took the toy away so american children don’t choke
Manzas@lemdro.id 2 years ago
They were too fat to see the capsule
aelwero@lemmy.world 2 years ago
No… what we got has toys, it’s just in a split clamshell kinda deal, with a toy in one half, and a Nutella like paste in the other half with a little malt ball in it. It’s crap and I hate it :)
The split pack “freedom” version is called kinder joy, as opposed to kinder surprise.
telllos@lemmy.world 2 years ago
Hold on, if there is one thing that isn’t awesome is the chocolate. The toy is amazing, the chocolate trigger childhood memories. But it’s really bad chocolate.

People act like America had some sort of campaign against Kinder Eggs when it just violated a blanket “you can’t put non-food things inside food” rule.
And Europe HAS lost children to them so I don’t know why that became an American thing.
dewritoninja@pawb.social 2 years ago
How many children have died to school shootings the last 10 years compated to children dying due to kinder eggs
Anestoh@lemm.ee 2 years ago
Bro what does that have to do with anything. All I’m saying is no one banned Kinder Eggs, they just fell under existing rules.
Siegfried@lemmy.world 2 years ago
I only found one article about a 3yr french girl that died because of the kinder toy. Are there more cases?
Anyway, poor girl
Anestoh@lemm.ee 2 years ago
At least 3 more according to a lawsuit back in 2000. thefreelibrary.com/Parents+hit+out+at+EU+over+tin…

The surprise is DEATH!
wiikifox@pawb.social 2 years ago
How can you possibly choke with something that big? Yeah you can but it would need to enter in a very specific angle right?
nomecks@lemmy.world 2 years ago
There’s smaller parts inside the capsule. Ravenous American children aren’t allowed to have them.
babypigeon@lemmy.world 2 years ago
Our love affair with eating starts early. And sometimes it ends early, too.
wiikifox@pawb.social 2 years ago
Well, to choke on the toys inside you have to open it, clearly differencing it from the food. If that’s dangerous then kids shouldn’t have toys at all.

In America they separated the toy from the chocolate because kids were choking on it

It’s dangerous to hide small plastic capsules in candy … but it’s perfectly Ok for anyone to buy an assault rifle.
affiliate@lemmy.world 2 years ago
just be happy there’s no assault rifle in the capsule
Player2@sopuli.xyz 2 years ago
What do you mean? It’s my God given right to store my assault rifle inside my plastic capsule inside my candy! Who are you to tell me not to?
AeonFelis@lemmy.world 2 years ago
It won’t fit. But bullets would.

But muh Second Amendment!

Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world 2 years ago
The food code should probably just be amended. It pretty generically says that you can’t have “nonnutritive” stuff inside of it, unless that stuff is safe to consume. That’s a pretty reasonable thing, but it should probably be tweaked for nonnutritive stuff that is easy to spot and less likely to be mistaken for food.
ryathal@sh.itjust.works 2 years ago
Yep. It’s the same law keeping sawdust out of food that is also banning kinder eggs.

We all assume people are at least as smart as we think we are but honestly they aren’t. It’s scary how many stupid people there are even if you are at the lower part of the average. Millions… It’s always the lowest common denominator that the world ends up being built for it seems and that means it’s not required for millions above that…
