Re the locks - my general thought is that if you really want to get into my house, you’re going to get into my house. A rock or brick is very effective.
Locks just lower the potential for easy crimes of opportunity.

I ended up going down the matter, home assistant, HomeKit route so I have some options for local network control.

It’s better to just purchase a temperature probe with wifi. Those are handy as hell.

Connected HVAC can be pretty damn great depending on your house. It’s changed my energy usage a lot, and I like being able to adjust temps without walking downstairs in the middle of the night. Although having your thermostat lose cloud support ever 10-15 years is pretty shitty.
Connected doors are also great for handing out virtual keys and ensuring that stuff is shut and locked when you’re away.

I would argue under 60 = F is the norm. It’s even quite a common trope in movies / TV. Example:

Maybe where you went to school. I always had Fs at 59% and under… just like in Wikipedia’s article. en.wikipedia.org/…/Academic_grading_in_the_United…
I attended and worked in a couple schools in the states. I saw some alternatives like pass / fail and SBG, but whenever it was the A-F system, 60% was a D-

Year or two? This is Nintendo. The OLED version will probably come out in 4 or 5 years.

I mean, the company is literally named after this fucking thing from LOTR. These people are comic book level evil.

Yeah man, reverting back to the old stabilized rent control policies and opening a city owned wholesale grocers, and making DoorDash pay minimum wage. Socialism as in Norway, not Stalin.
Stalin was the dude who purged all of his dissenters from his party, implemented mass deportations, and threw people in lawless gulags. Kind of like America’s current president.

Yeah, I can’t see how you cram all that into 2 hours. Stuff will get cut.
My bet is that a lot of the earth stuff and waking up in space stuff will get truncated to hell.
- Comment on Project Hail Mary - Trailer 2 weeks ago:
Yeah, but I feel like the real fun of that book is, like with the Martin, the repeat science MacGyver events.
- Comment on Project Hail Mary - Trailer 2 weeks ago:
Loved the book. Happy to see a big budget movie where the hero is science.

I should’ve clarified. Locally owned independent theaters.
That said, not everyone has those. They tend to exist in big urban areas, or very small communities. If you’re in the middle, you get the chains.

- Comment on Movies not starting when they are scheduled. 3 weeks ago:
Go 20 min later if you’re going to something like an AMC theater. AMC is particularly bad.
But better that, support locally owned theaters or smaller companies in general. They generally plug the snack bar, tell you to turn off your phone, then cut to trailers.

Are you sure Trump’s birthday parade didn’t have a giant skeletal foot?
A parade isn’t a parade without a skeletal foot.
- Comment on The White House is paving over the Rose Garden with concrete. People are outraged 4 weeks ago:
It looks like they’re getting rid of the grass that was under the seating area. They’re also putting French drains around that gathering area.
The roses and topiaries are still there, they’re just redoing the area where the chairs and tables go.
This is landscaping change is pretty low on my lists of concerns about Trump. I have a lot of greenery in my yard, and I also put gravel and stone under the seating areas.

Obviously a true story. Cats are famously easy to train. Also, the image has words on it that support this story.
