Honestly, applying is a numbers game these days. A lot of us vets that are on the market are finding that the application to interview rate is on the low single digits. A lot of white collar work gigs get several hundred applicant, so you’ve got to apply quickly and have a resume that stands out.
Also, there are a lot of ghost jobs and ai agents mucking everything up. So if you can get your resume directly in front of a hiring manager, you’re going to have a better chance of getting a screening interview.

Shit was rough when I graduated college in the 00’s, but I can’t imagine graduating these days now that a lot of employers want to replace entry-level roles with Claude.
Every generation gets less and less opportunities than the one proceeding it.

The Plaza is more than a place to crash. There is the Palm Court and a number of bougee things going on there. I would argue that more that half of the folks using those hotel amenities are not staying the night. They’re there for special occasions.

The Plaza isn’t the Hilton Garden Inn. It’s a Fairmont hotel, and people 100% go there just for food, drinks, afternoon tea, the spa, etc.
Also, you need to book reservations for a lot of that stuff well in advance. Those things are frequently booked up and used by a fuck ton of people who are not hotel guests.
