Iran Strikes Send VIP Dubai Influencers ‘Back To Reality’
“OMG!” Israeli wellness influencer Hofit Golan exclaims repeatedly in a video that shows a building near her apartment in flames.
British content creator Will Bailey was updating his Instagram and TikTok followers by filming the trails of smoke left by missiles and interceptor rockets in Dubai’s skyline.
“That was metres away from us,” he says in a video filmed near the Fairmont hotel, which was hit by a strike on Saturday.
Other influencers were less composed, with France’s Maeva Ghennam who, waving her passport around, told viewers she “screamed hysterically” when she heard a strike.

Looks like some are stuck there for awhile too.
On Sunday, the French embassy in the UAE reiterated to its nationals in the country that it was not possible to leave because Emirati airspace remained closed until further notice.
It urged French citizens there to “strictly follow the safety instructions: stay at home (and) keep away from windows, doors and open areas”.

I’m from Redneck SoCal, I more or less have no horse in this race. Only my bloodthirst and lack of care for people has me even paying attention. Sad that innocent working folks get killed, but if even just one influencer gets minced I’ll be happier than when I find WW1 artifacts at an estate sale.

Well our president is a direct result of American vapidness and celebrity worship that led to the shit stain of person being elected president. A literal subhuman celebrity was voted president and started this war. Plus the type of influencer living in Dubai probably make most of their money off of scaming ppl worldwide and are a detriment to society.

Dude, plenty of influencers are from Europe as well, I don’t really care what breed of shitstain profligate gets turned into a greasy stain on the concrete just that they do. As @Cosmonauticus@lemmy.world put better a lot of the influencers who would go to Dubai are the types who are probably scamming folks.
Also I have nothing but loathing for celebrity culture. As I said I’m from the more Redneck part of SoCal, I don’t really have a horse in this race. Sure I want to see damned near every pissant in DC hanged but that isn’t anything new. I can’t add anything else beyond openly saying some folks should die. Yes it’s sad that civilians are being caught in the crossfire, but that feels like an obvious observation.
Maybe my perception is a bit warped from growing up during Iraq and Afghanistan but what else should I fucken say? Should I be posting myself going “oh I’m sorry I was born in the US” because that ain’t gonna happen, I’m Californian not American I fucken hate this empire and frankly hope I live long enough to kill folks who do like it.
