No thanks. 2016 was where everything really went to shit faster than usual.
- Comment on Um.... no.... 6 days ago:
Only if the consumer end actually mattered. It hasn’t really for quite some time now. Investors and stock value is what matters, and those are completely detached from the consumer side of things.
- Comment on Um.... no.... 6 days ago:
No, but now they will get further billions from US pharma and health insurance companies, even while their health app is bleeding money. They don’t have any profitable product, but they have investors with extremely deep pockets who are designing their own unprofitable products with OpenAI as the foundation, and as long as they can string them along, the bloated bubble will continue.

Giving them money just provokes further entshittification, because it gives them pointers as to what kind of shittification they can charge money for.
- Comment on I need to vent about plastic milk jugs 2 weeks ago:
The sanitary standards for packaging milk are very high in North America.
Well, perhaps used to be. Now the oversight on those kinds of things is gone, and companies can do whatever pleases them. I wouldn’t put my trust in their good faith at all.

Broccoli on pizza is a very common thing in Italy. And it is delicious.

But not so much for the stop eating fast food and go outside bit, more for the racism and misogyny.
- Comment on What do other languages use for "magic" words; or names and titles in fantasy and sci-fi novels or cinema? 3 weeks ago:
Harry Potter isn’t really exemplary of English in this regard either. You are generalising from lack of knowledge. This isn’t a thing in English either outside of Harry Potter.

I don’t think I’m American enough to understand what this post is about.

No, that is garbled nonsense based on the misunderstanding of a factoid.
- Comment on MONOCULTURE 4 weeks ago:
It’s not “remarkably safe”.
- Comment on Why do you hate AI? 4 weeks ago:
It is definitely very American in its defaulting to racism as the core of its satire.
- Comment on why 5 weeks ago:
It is not a problem for native speakers though. These kinds of things are only something you think about if you are learning it as a second language later in life. If you grew up with them you just aborb the information and use it without thinking about it.

insect control
They are likely going extinct because insects are too though. But yeah, the entire eco system is completely fucked.
- Comment on Hi, I am TotallyNotForeignNational and only have the best interests of america in mind. You can trust me because this is reddit, not xitter, and I say good things about the American president. 1 month ago:
Pretty funny with the “Even Trump said it was”, as if they are adding some sort of extra impeccable cited source, when what they are doing is literally just regurgitating precisely what Trump said in everything they write.
They are Trump supporters because they are even more stupid than Trump himself, which is a pretty mindboggling concept.

This meme is as American as it gets.
Cooking your own food is pretty normal in most of the rest of the world, regardless of generation nonsense.

Never knew his name, but I remember that ghoulish face from a Jon Stewart Daily Show bit, which mentioned he served as a token “Democrat” talking head on Fox News.

Sure, but the OP doesn’t say “gender warriors”, it says “Western man”, which includes a whole lot more people than the tiny minority of those bigots.

Yes, but they both share fond memories of racism and other forms of bigotry.
