It’s just not my day today. Nothing has gone well
SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 3 months ago
Those days happen! Take some time for yourself when you can (rest of the day, perhaps?), big glass of water and don’t force anything. We think you’re awesome!!

The man: I’ve just feed the dog
Me: I’ve feed him already
The dog: I love you guys.

Went to aldi hoping there’s magnesium salts. Nope. I swear when I see them next I’m gonna buy 5 bags of them. That’ll be 15kg of the stuff. I’ll make it my mission to never run out of the stuff again.
Apart from toilet paper and petrol, what’s the one thing you hope to never run out of?
Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 3 months ago
Peanut oil.
The will to live.
Chicken nuggets.
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 3 months ago
Adhd meds and cat food lol
melbaboutown@aussie.zone 3 months ago
If you’re looking for epsom salts they have it at Coles, Woolies and CW if that’s any help.
Unfortunately they’re only 1kg packets though and not bulk (which seems to be what you want to buy)
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 3 months ago
Yeah I know but aldi have 3kg bags for $10 and I go through a lot. I love that shit.

Hoping there’s a kiosk or something at the nearby shopping centre doing gift wrapping for valentines day for like a 1 dollar donation or something
Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 3 months ago
You have to be kidding. Even the paper costs a bundle nowadays. And gift wrapping is a fairly skilled art, even with squared paper, good cutting tools and good ribbon skills. I used to do Myer xmas wrapping temp jobs for a few years- it was a madhouse and extremely stressful. Even a charity would have to charge for the paper and ribbon etc. to make any money at all.
SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 3 months ago
There was a place in The Block? arcade doing gold coin xmas wrapping last year. My mate got all (x17) his family presents wrapped there for $20.
tombruzzo@aussie.zone 3 months ago
My girlfriend and I did it one time. I don’t remember how much it cost though because hardly anyone came. It’s not like it was the Christmas period for wrapping presents
melbaboutown@aussie.zone 3 months ago
Does this guide help at all? m.youtube.com/watch?v=Cfn5Ybglcnw&pp=0gcJCUABo7Vq…
When you buy items you could try and request they do it, some shops offer that service but idk which.
Otherwise there’s always the good old gift bag or putting stuff in a mug and tying it in a gathered cellophane sack with a ribbon.
tombruzzo@aussie.zone 3 months ago
I bought some Reject Shop wrapping paper and did it at work. Someone else could have done it nicer but it has turned out alright
Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 3 months ago
Pantry moths gah…
And thus begins operation hunt n’ purge.
SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 3 months ago
I read that as panty moths and thought that’s what happens when I’m not getting any.

Happy Friday 13th & Galentines Day!!
Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 3 months ago
Pancakes for everyone! I like the idea of Galentines Day - so much more universally acceptable.
melbaboutown@aussie.zone 3 months ago
Bubs has been requesting treats so I gave her some anti-nausea meds and tried her on the wet food again. She ate it! She’s also been cuddling more so I’m hoping she’s starting to feel better again. (She has been seen by a vet.)

Americans losing their minds because a US brand launched an AU exclusive clear lip gloss is both hilarious and terrifying.

Medical
Turns out there aren’t many more good options for me medically. I won’t overshare, just say that there’s a couple of things left to try but after that I could be in a bad spot. 😐
Melbcat was sulking in the other room because I moved while she was sleeping on me and then gave her medication. There were literal grumbles.
I’m trying Runescape during downtime. OSRS gets spoken of highly but something happened where the game got stuck as a tiny window and was jittering… uninstall. The newer Runescape is more playable but I don’t really like the controls.
spoiler
Having to constantly manually re-orient the camera to whatever direction you’re going (with clicks on a legend or using keys awkwardly on the same side as your mouse hand) isn’t the best. It’s so clunky and gets very old. I really prefer WASD controls and hope there’s some add-on to allow that. So much clicking to move on top of everything else is hard on my wrist. And not being able to move with the map open is also really annoying. You’re constantly having to stop to reorient yourself. Also usable items don’t stack in your bag. This means constant trips back to the banks and the travel stone or whatever I have doesn’t take me near one. I really hope a larger bag can be crafted or I can get a better location.
It’s a good game but involves a fair bit of unnecessary faffing around. That can become a bit of a chore to the point I’d rather just lie back down and rest.

May I suggest a 3/4 sized guitar? And also JustinGuitar has a lot of free resources.
melbaboutown@aussie.zone 3 months ago
I’ve found some cool mini ones intended for travel, it’s just… I’m so constantly exhausted and lazy and probably wouldn’t be able to stick with putting the work in. So would be spending money on something only to abandon it and have the item become clutter 😔
tombruzzo@aussie.zone 3 months ago
It would be another instrument but bass ukeleles are really fun. Not the baritones that are just a bit bigger, proper bass ukeleles with the big rubbery strings. They’re easy to fret and sound nice.
And they pack a punch when plugged in since they have a built in pickup. Size doesn’t matter and you could fit in the mix live with the right gear
melbaboutown@aussie.zone 3 months ago
They look cool, I’m just not wanting to spend money and won’t be performing (learning may even be a stretch)

Valentines day on a Saturday night? A no brainier to have a night out.
tombruzzo@aussie.zone 3 months ago
Took the girlfriend to the Bluestone restaurant in Epping and it’s a nice spot. I was surprised by how much space is out the back.
You go out the back of the restaurant and there’s this outdoor area with a bunch of original farm houses and stuff. Because it’s a mismatch of old buildings and paths go off in whatever direction it feels like you’re in the starting area of Dark Souls: Australia.
There’s even a big hole in the middle of the place for that complete Dark Souls Hub feel.

The custard tart has come out of the oven, it puffed up really high, it is now deflating and cooling.

That looks delectable, now I’m craving something sweet.

Bill and Ted had breakfast yesterday but meowed so pitifully I gave them a little second breakfast.
Then Miss Seagoon asked me if they had any breakfast as they were meowing at her. They were trying for a third breakfast!

Poor little hobbits :(
Would a little steamed vegetable snack help fill the tummy void?

Every damn year, this day sneaks up on me. I should have taken it off work, but I always forget to ask.
I don’t know whether Mum would be proud of me, but I hope so
Eagle@aussie.zone 3 months ago
We’re proud of you, if that helps.

Reminder that you’re doing amazing ❤️ the fact that you’re alive is one in a billion.
Googled it - The chances of you being alive right now are astronomically small, often cited as 1 in 10 to the 2.6 millionth power (1 in (10^{2,685,000})), meaning a 1 followed by nearly 2.7 million zeros, making your existence a near-impossible statistical miracle, requiring an unbroken chain of ancestral survival and reproduction over billions of years. This calculation considers the odds of your specific parents meeting, their sperm and egg combining with the right DNA, and this happening across all your ancestors, all the way back to single-celled organisms.
