I’m very emotional today. Everything is going well but I feel like I’m gonna burst into tears anytime now for the smallest thing. Weird.

I think sometimes when you go through something really difficult, you’ve got to hold it all together just to get through. Then when things get better all the stress and emotions come out. hugs

I think you are absolutely right. Menopause doesn’t help either.
SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 2 months ago
Sometimes you’ve just gotta cry.

Got a fair bit done over the last few days down here. Much easier when there’s no one around. No silly arguments, not having to time / plan shit around dinner / shopping.
Very lucky to be able to use this place no questions asked. Usually over summer fam is down a fair bit and things can get a bit tense. So the idea is to remove a bit of that by getting shit done now in peace and quiet. This year there’ll be SIL/bro’s bubz in tow, ol’ girl’s in no shape so it’s completely on me this year. Back in the day would’ve protested but these days after the last year and a bit sign me the fuck up, any excuse to escape lol.

was told that I’d be going to a mex place for dinner so I put make up on and took an allergy tab in case I couldn’t avoid dairy
they brought home fish and chips instead 😐
SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 2 months ago
Oooh that’d be irritating!! Why the change?! Going out vs at home is very different, let alone the cuisine!! One needs notice for something like that!
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 months ago
I dunno.
we had my home made mango coconut ice creams for dessert, which were very yummy 🐻❄️
I don’t mind really, have things on my mind

I have spent many years trying to convince everyone I am not ADHD… Looking around at the disaster in apartment today and realising I probably should not have embarked on a whole new kitchen reorganisation project complete with IKEA kits before I just stopped for ten minutes to do the dishes and put the bloody clothes away. Hmmmm

One of us! One of us! Lol

True. I’m very consciously forcing myself to deal with the stuff in visible areas before pulling out any cupboards or tackling the fridge

Want chocolate. Only have mandarin. 😭
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 months ago
yay for chocolate 🙂
SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 2 months ago
What kinda chocolate did you get? 😀
RustyRaven@aussie.zone 2 months ago
Some random chocolates with no obvious branding someone at work had. It was much appreciated.

Beautiful day for a market stroll, lots of cute dogs around!

Work Xmas party today and I’m running late 🤦🏼♀️Power at home was supposed to be cut off between 8am and 10am, but they turned up at 9:30am with a new power pole 🤦🏼♀️Had to cook the kids and early lunch because the gas oven is a bit tricky to turn on since the piezo broke.

Partner has man flu and has been binging Severance tonight. I’ve been watching some episodes here and there and he’s into the second season now.
I do find it a bit slow in places. Not the slow burn part, I like slow burns, but just slow to move the story along. Other than that, it’s a solid thriller and I like the realistic subtle sci-fi element, as well as its commentary on corpo life.
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 months ago
I hope you enjoy each episode equally.

Patricia Arquette and Adam Scott are fabulous. Loved Patricia since I used to religiously watch Medium back when it was airing 😂
LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 2 months ago
I think the shots of the landscapes are great but a bit slow. I watched Season 1 in 2x speed.

Put The Hobbit soundtrack on. Immediate smile. I needed that. 🤓🤓🤓

I have been listening to the Peter Serkis audiobooks of LOTR and they are immediately relaxing
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 months ago
I have been listening to the Phil Dragash LOTR and it can be so tense, or scary, or so sad I sit there crying in the train with my ear buds in

King Parrot are doing an all ages show in Richmond today. I’d like to take the kids but it would be an expense venture for something they probably won’t be into

Taleya@aussie.zone 2 months ago
huh.
I gotta say, the story of “Mickey” makes a lot more sense when you find out it’s a cover and was written for a male singer feeling baffled and cockteased. I never did understand how she flipped from “Take me home, arsehole” to “I’ll let you do me up the bum” without an intervening narrative structure.
Also I am not unfamiliar with Racey how am I just finding this out now.

The looming spectre of Xmas is fucking with me.
I fucking hate Xmas because it highlights what are already sore spots and amplifies them ten fold.
It doesn’t matter how much you succeed, or how well you’re doing. You cannot outrun not having a family.
SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 2 months ago
Christmas was a sore spot until I realised that everyone has a different way of viewing Christmas and I chose to make my own. I have friends with those “picture perfect” families who are so dragged down by the day and appearances. Personally, my favourite Christmas is the one I can spend eating mac n cheese in my pyjamas.
No, you can’t outrun having a family. But you can choose to have your own traditions, with Gibson, with the strays, with the DT, with a favourite game or book or movie. With knowing that you are an AMAZING person who is treasured!
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 months ago
The world is a better place with Simon in it. We’re lucky to have him here. 🙂
tone212_@aussie.zone 2 months ago
Xmas is one day, then it’s over. Totally understand that the lead up is so long but thinking of it as one day in a year helps me. I don’t have a close extended family or big family event like others, it’s much like any other day.
Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 2 months ago
Oh shit probably shouldn’t have written what I did above didn’t see your post.
That’s rough.
Maybe this year a DT xmas IRL meetup party is in order. Would be nice to put faces to names :)
