      That was a regularly recurring example from previous discussions. It was a popular method for the UK porn verification stuff earlier this year. I was never comfortable with it being the only method however. I don’t expect a recovering alcoholic or Muslim to buy a beer for this.

  I’ve heard that sharing your goals can make your less likely to achieve them, but I have a goal. Next year, I want to improve my writing. I got an assignment back that said I was more descriptive than analytical, which is probably a Year 9 English problem, something I should’ve learnt when I was 15. Writing has always been something a source of anxiety. I remember the first essay I had to write under timed conditions in early high school, I had broken down into tears.

  I think solving the procrastination problem, and being more “meta” about my work can help with this. Also asking for help. I think when academic skills reopens, I’ll ask them how I can improve.

  Reading up some more and cats are very sensitive to fumes from even odourless mineral spirits, which are also really flammable… I could try to work outside but bubs would fuss and there’s the disposal issue.

  Perhaps I should first just use paint from the tube and try cleaning brushes with vegetable oil followed by soap and water.

  And find somewhere safe to keep these flammable bottles in Summer :/ /paranoid

  Navigating mygov shit for ol’ girl’s medical stuff. Couldn’t get past security q “name of first pet”. She grew up on a farm.

  Was getting very frustrated… so sat her down and said right… write down the name every favourite pet and we’ll try systematically.

  We had 2 horses, a donkey, a chicken, 2 dogs, a turkey and a cat.

  It was the fuckn’ cat.

  Good sign that she can remember all those names though.

  I found out why it’s been so hard the past few years to change the bed linen

  husband decided I didn’t buy soft enough sheets so took it upon himself to do all the buying.

  I closely inspected some of them last week when organising the linen closet, he had bought a size too small. 😐

  I have set up my new work laptop today - a few teething issues but we got there, not as hard as I thought it would be setting up email and cloud drives. Upgrading from 8GB to 32GB RAM and a modern processor makes a huge difference.

      That’s a separate issue and I swear it’s a choice by the streaming services like Netflix. The best workaround I can think of there is setting your audio to the Dialogue setting or getting a sound system with a centre speaker and turning that channel up
