Doing a donation of items to the shelter I got Toby from this weekend. I prefer to donate physical items, so reached out to them to see what they needed. Have got some rabbit food, kong toys to stuff and freeze, cooling mats, will go out tomorrow and buy some blankets and basic training treats. Am preparing myself for the waterworks from myself.

Some of those pets will be very grateful, maybe even taking their toys and blankets with them to new homes

Since Nellie has decided to leave for a wifi-less locale, perhaps this specimen might be a new mascot

Recommendations for covid cures solicited! Vaguely sensible things, not vinegar up yah clachah
SituationCake@aussie.zone 2 months ago
Chicken soup won’t cure you but it sure will make you feel better. Panadol or nurofen will help with fever and aches.
StudChud@aussie.zone 2 months ago
I’ve had it twice. First time was very rough, solid 2 weeks of existing on the plane of pain.
Black lemon honey tea helps, if only to get sugar and water into you. Bread as it’s a neutral inoffensive food. Lots of water, sleep whenever you can to jump forward in time.
Keep cosy and comfortable

You can kill it with chilli - not my idea
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 2 months ago
A cat applied to the lap as a makeshift heat pack.
Clap.

Garlic and horseradish tablets to dry out the snot. Lots of fluids. Rest. Panadol. Eat little bits when you’re feeling like it, I lived on rice crackers and cream cheese last time.
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 months ago
every time I think I’ve had it I’ve tested neg. I think it’s was just bad testing
I found lots of sleep, vit d , and drinking water helped the best
LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 2 months ago
Panadol or ibuprofen for fever. Difflam double strength throat spray. Decongestant or sinus rinse. Lots of fluids. Half of chemist warehouse.
Hope you feel better soon. Rest up!!
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 2 months ago
Leaving earlier and finishing earlier is definitely the go. Way less people on the train both ways.
Have a great day everyone ❤️

One great thing about getting older is my memory seems to be going… what’s the positive you say? Well, tonight it means that I realised I totally forgot I love Spoon and that seeing them play this live and the whole crowd just going nuts is a pretty fucking good memory. Hardest Cut
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 months ago
they have a real qotsa sound
love it
StudChud@aussie.zone 2 months ago
Qotsa and Wolfmother are bands I listen to when I want that classic 60s rock sound without sacrificing modern beats
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 2 months ago
Chill day. Bit quiet because the guy I’m eventually taking over from has been under the pump.
BBQ after work tomorrow is pretty chill though.
Just wish I lived closer to work
LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 2 months ago
iirc where you live doesn’t have a train line? Is it realistic to move somewhere closer with better transport? Might have to sacrifice space though.

I plan on making this on Sunday. I hope it turns out this good.
LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 2 months ago
All I’ve been doing these days is drinking tea and trying to get the uni shit done. Have made plans for next week to leave the house for reasons other than work so I have to get shit done faster. Let’s see if this works. Spoiler: it won’t.
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 months ago
when you do the work the work gets done
you can do this 😊

Garden work is finally complete. I am going to celebrate with a shower and then veg on the sofa for the afternoon.
A lot of dirt was moved. Pigeons supervised, but refused to help
The back yard looks even more patchy than when I started, but should improve once the grass grows in.
I think if I top dress the grass again in Autumn I can fill in the lower spots a bit more, and the extra sand should help with drainage and hopefully I won’t have the wet spots that hold water after rain.
Taleya@aussie.zone 2 months ago
Wet spots? Tree homes!
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 months ago
it’s going to look great, you’ve put in the hard work and made a well designed garden , it will pay off with enjoyment all seasons :)

Yeah it’s gonna happen.

This is why I have two doonas and covers.
I get the fresh one ready to go and when the pet gets up I swap them over lightning fast
Alamutjones@aussie.zone 2 months ago
He lives there now. Do you WANT to join the parasitic landlord class?
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 2 months ago
It needs to be washed. There’s brown patches where he’s wiped arse unless he’s gotten into the Vegemite.
SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 2 months ago
Hell no!
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 2 months ago
Atleast he’s not following me around I guess.

Last minit catch up with partners friends from Perth, they’ve just bought a house here.
Looking forward to the nearby house parties they’re known to do 🤘

Have you seen the GabeCube announced by Valve today? Interesting things happening in the world of PC gaming right now
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 2 months ago
Yes indeed! I’m the target market lol

I’ve been thinking for a while a cheap all AMD PC with Bazzite would be a good loungeroom computer. Depending on the price they may have solved that for me

nearly today’s garden tasks done, just didn’t move a big pot, too heavy, and couldn’t repot another because the plant is too big for the pot I had for it.
Tomorrow I have to shop for some Australiana for the Young Seagoons and friends. I am excite. :) 😊😭

I have achieved pizza, to make up for a disappointing pakij experience - a power meter widget, very boring

sleep driving me crazy …lol
I am sleeping so well now there is no back pain and I can sleep in any position. Comfort now means comfort, not least pain.
but I wake up 5 hours later 👀👀👀

3rd post in a row!
London Calling.
Now I get the song. The world is ending and that’s how it felt in the 80s.
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 months ago
Listening to the documentary of BBC Radio I have heard many interviews, many voices, many real time recordings of events I have never heard before.
On side 3 I heard Howard Carter interviewed, Hitler and Mussolini speaking, the first Bing Crosby, the Announcement of War by Chamberlain, real sound recordings and reporting of the Blitz of London, Vera Lynn speaking on the radio, Churchill’s announcement of the fall of France.
It was fascinating and engrossing.

I have a huge list of garden chores, most chores are very small and easy. I will do those first otherwise, overwhelm.

It’s a beautiful sunny day to sit and watch the remaining cypress trees fall.
The weather forecast says mostly cloudy, but someone forgot to tell the clouds. I got to an early start today, the dog has been walked, breakfast eaten, I have watered the front nature strip and moved about 6 carts of dirt so far. I think of moving the dirt as an arm strengthening exercise, but it’s really a whole body thing. Every shovel full also involves squats and bracing all the core muscles. Which means everything should hurt tomorrow, not just the arms!
