Hank, suddenly intrigued: "Wait, there's a 'grass type' Pokemon?"
ShinkanTrain@lemmy.ml 1 year ago
I don’t mind the lawnmower cause it’s a poltergeist possessing various electronics. That’s a pretty cool concept, even though I don’t care for the designs themselves.
HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 1 year ago
wait, could that poltergeist possess… a propane grill?
TheRealKuni@piefed.social 1 year ago
Well sort of. But yeah.

Bobby: "Dad, everybody knows they can't catch Rayquazza... it entices ."

Maybe it’s just nostalgia (even though I was already playing videogames when Pokémon R/B came out on GB), but 3rd generation Pokémon was really the best one. Creative and fun without being too wacky. Also, Gardevoir. 🤷😅

Meanwhile, Bobby’s outside playing in the tall grass pretending to be a Rattata.
DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 1 year ago
I can absolutely see Bobby as the comfy shorts kid.

Hank Hill recognizes 152 Pokémon total. The first 151, and then Stunfisk.

Hank: “Bobby, when I was little, we had 151 Pokémon, and that was plenty! We didn’t even have confirmation that Mew existed until maybe a decade later, and we were all so happy that we threw a party! Remember, Boomhauer?”
Boomhauer: “Well I tell ya what man igottagetyaonthepokemonromhacksbecausebackthentheydidntknowgaddumnallaboutjapaneseso (chuckling) theyjustchangedthejapanesecharacterstoenglishones man andnobodycaredtheydjustsitthereonno$gbandmakeuppokemonnameslike ‘turt’ or ‘hors’ andwe’dalljustlikestumblethroughthebarelytranslatedgames tryingtofigureoutwhattodoman it was a joy to be included”
Hank: “Yeah.”

Arceus is the real god Pokemon.
Rayquaza is just protector of the earth.
It fights alien Pokemon Deoxys and calms down Kyogre (creator and protector of the sea) and Groudon (protector and creator of the Land).
🤓
s@piefed.world 1 year ago
Arceus is a capital G god. Any “one-of-a-kind” Pokémon representing an in-universe element or force could pass as a lowercase g god.
Petter1@discuss.tchncs.de 1 year ago
Yess, thank you! I corrected it in my comment! 🫶🏻🤘🏻

Does Rayquaza have the slap of death of Kirbo?
ShinkanTrain@lemmy.ml 1 year ago
They’re all deities, Arceus is just on a higher level
