Hell yeah, my group has been playing that for a few months now. I should donate to the devs because it’s such a great free game.
- Comment on Rhythm Doggo Announcement Trailer - By Nifflas, creator of Knytt and Within a Deep Forest 3 days ago:
Nifflas doesn’t get enough recognition! I’m surprised they went with Within A Deep Forest though, I would have thought Night Sky is his most recognizable game.
That being said, his older works like WADF and Saira are great.
- Comment on Genshin Impact Game Developer Will be Banned from Selling Lootboxes to Teens Under 16 without Parental Consent, Pay a $20 Million Fine to Settle FTC Charges. 3 days ago:
Genshin is in year 5, so it’s still an impressive number. Plus they have 3 other live service games running concurrently (one released this past July)

- Comment on Nintendo Switch 2 finally officially revealed 5 days ago:
At the same time, the Switch is such a solid console that a hardware upgrade with full backwards compatibility* is really the best case scenario. People have wanted a bigger screen, better chip, and better joysticks since launch, and now we’ll have them!
*the video says it’s not 100% compatible, but I’m assuming that’s for stuff like Labo and Ring Fit that need those exact joycon sizes/shapes.

It barely qualifies as a teaser, but I concede that.

Every studio does this though. “Media Blackout” is just everything up to the reveal trailer.

That would be an interesting challenge: to play a game suboptimally, intentionally rhythmic.

- Comment on Sony is working on Horizon Zero Dawn and Helldivers 2 movies 2 weeks ago:
HZD actually has a fantastic story and a great setting. With some recent successful game movies, I can see this one actually being good. But does Sony have much of a track record here? Uncharted was bad.
- Comment on Why would Dumbledolf do this 2 weeks ago:
The miserable Mouthoil lay sputtering on the ground as The Nearly Dead Dumbledore let out a triumphant cheer. He had finally rid his school of that little shit! Huzzah! Huzzah all around! Ronnie the Bear cheered sheepishly, but one day he too would cherish the blood sport of the wizarding world with commensurate fervor. Master P clapped him on the back to assure him that this was the suitable reward for a job well done. Harmony didn’t cheer but none of the other kids or teachers gave a fuck.

Not sure about the Mac environment, but I had the black screen issue when screen mirroring through Chromecast. It’s fixed by disabling hardware acceleration in the browser.
- Comment on Longtime buddy of mine just got a gaming PC. What games would make up a good "welcome to PC" care package? 3 weeks ago:
Big shout out to Beyond All Reason. It’s an RTS game that’s free and open source that I’ve been playing with my friends for a few weeks now. Not even a fan of RTS games, but it’s a lot of fun to play co-op matches against AI.

Rotwood is a good one. Co-op Roguelite beat-em-up from the Don’t Starve guys.
Lethal Company is just lots of fun, we’ve gotten too much time out of that dumb game.
Outward is a fantastic old-school RPG for two people, has all the traits of a game from 2002
Palworld - haven’t hopped back into this one since its launch but have been meaning to. But this type of game is definitely not underrepresented on the market.
PlateUp! if you’re not worried about getting into a fight over how awful your buddy is at making food
Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos is a Zelda-like RPG that’s a surprising amount of fun for how simple the game first looks.
Other bigname recs: Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Baldur’s Gate 3, Sea of Thieves, Deep Rock Galactic, Stardew Valley

they pay devs millions
I mean I see this as a good thing. I have to keep a separate launcher around but… at least that dev is getting a great deal and will probably be able to support that game for a while (or start their next one)

Yeah I saw the thumbnail and ‘steam game’ and had a moment of confusion. Fantastic background music for D&D, and the animations are simple but endearing. Also, it looks like new lore in the steam app (world map)!!
But yeah Blue Turtle doesn’t make the music, which is the highlight of the series. I wonder if the steam app licenses them? Or are they royalty free?
