Knocked off early.
Cheers đ„
Love all youse guys đđ„°đ»
Cheers đ„ đ
While out for my grocery shop I ran into an old friend and we ended up catching up for awhile on things.
I didnât want to leave but I was coming to the end of my free parking.
Had a good time!
cool đ
We probably havenât seen each other since Covid.
Since sheâs had 2 kids and is currently on maternity leave from work.
Wish we had more time but maybe if things work out we might meet again next week.
omg omg omg
we are going to visit a beach right on the Pacific Ocean tomorrow , not on a bay, right on the ocean
I think I will go in the water a bit đ just a little
Righto ladies n gents, itâs time to get rekkâd. Cheers đș
Cheers đ„§
I gave apple and blackberry pies from Aldi
They are the best pies. Yum. Enjoy.
I am SO ready⊠but gotta wait another few hours đ
Beer and soju. Might have a little Mary Jane later and trip out to the lights.
Had to have a serious chat to the team today.
Iâve put a target on my back by giving them a lot of autonomy and they were starting to get complacent.
I got the message across I think, without being too confrontational.
Probably good to remind them that there is a consequence for not getting past a certain threshold if youâve given them autonomy.
Youâre ultimately accountable for them.
So I got my sleep study results back after a fair wait. Yeah it turns out that not breathing might be the reason for the fatigue. Off to dig into savings and go CPAP shopping I think (#thuglife)
I am low key excited - maybe I can function like a real person finally. Any tips from anyone else in the mask club?
If you have any annoyances that can be solved with 3d printed parts, hmu. Mate of mine had me make him a custom bendy thing for his hose 'cos it kept snagging on his bespoke nightstand
ooh thanks
Have you got health insurance?
Check your extras cover. Many funds will reimburse you part of the cost for a CPAP machine. I know the one I work for will.
Nah. I keep a little emergency fund instead so thatâs ok. At this point I would pay anything if it solved my issues
Night night!
Melbcat is being very squeaky and squirmy. Sheâs learned to cry for the heater to go on, for extra snacks of wet food, and sometimes for no reason I can see. Iâm hoping sheâs just jealous of the computer getting attention. Maybe she just wants love.
Iâm playing games way too much but right now itâs just what Iâm doing.
cats be cats đ
She never used to ask for anything but Iâm hoping sheâs just got more confident to voice her needs. It might be her age too
Hmm my Aunty tried to ring me.
I let it ring out.
A couple of weeks ago she tried to persuade me again to get the others to agree to the settlement of the will.
I refused to do it and told her so.
Nothing to screw a family up quite like fighting over a will.
Tell me about it.
I told her last time Iâm not in contact with any family members and I donât want to be involved.
what is worse is not challenging a fake will đĄ
Iâm stressed just reading your post.
You donât need to get stressed.
If I had answered the phone I would have pushed back quite hard and yelled at her.
Sheâs trying to use me and I know it.

Yay: Iâm getting a bonus! I totally forgot they give them out at this time of the year
Nay: not sure how to handle tax vs salary sacrifice into super. Especially with having to wait one whole year to claim any additional tax back.
I kinda really really need the cash so think Iâll take most of it as cash even though itâll be taxed to all buggery. I swear to god I have not had to think so much about tax rules my whole life until this year.
I remember when I looked into it I could salary sacrifice an extra $500 a month into super and only take home $250 less because of how PAYG tax works. You can sacrifice up to about $12,000 into super a year before you have to pay additional fees on it or anything.
Itâs worth doing if you feel you can afford it, as youâre still getting that money, just further down the line.
For real, if not for the silly situation I put myself in my clearing out all my readily accessible cash last FY, I wouldâve put it all straight into super. Since my super is anaemic for my age and I am hoping to use the FHSSS in a couple of years if things go well.
I decided to put about 25% of the bonus in salary sacrifice and the rest paid out, and have my extra hours this pay cycle counted as TOIL which I can use to buffer the unpaid leave time over my break.
At the end of next FY I can always put the rest of the bonus money into super and claim the difference in tax back so if I understand correctly it is essentially the same as salary sacrifice, just at my own pace and with extra steps. I donât think Iâll do regular salary sacrifice from my pay until I have a much better financial position, I kind of like being able to control the timing of my contributions and have the money on hand in the meantime in case shit hits the fan as a single person without much family support in MelbourneâŠ
Has anything changed with your tax from when you last checked?
You mentioned something wrong with it last time.
I called my super fund about why my voluntary contribution wasnât showing up in my ATO profile and had been changed to $0 in my in-progress tax return - they advised me that it was strange and they definitely notified the ATO about my contribution and to just wait and see if it resolves in the next few days as things could change while the processing is in progress.
They also reassured me that if the ATO finalise the tax return without my contribution, I can get it amended and provide the documentation I received from my super fund, so I WILL get a refund instead of a bill eventually, but that will be annoying because I donât know how long it will take to process. Iâm relieved I have this bonus money coming through because at least I can move on with my life
Think Iâve caught something. Got a solid 10 hours of sleep last night, the just slept all day after getting my partner up for work. Just could not keep my eyes open.
Iâm awake now, but Iâm so so drowsy and blegggghhhh
Thatâs no good. Try to take it easy if you can.
Chicken soup might help too đđČ
Finally home. Guiness in hand. Butt in couch. Game loaded up. Cheers dudes đ»
Cheers buddy đș
Had that work efficiency session at the start of the week and I think I figured something out about why AI has been such a top down push in the workplace.
A member of the global leadership team was in the sessions, and sheâs all in on AI. She was telling us about all the work she was getting done with it, and it was just things like reports, presentations, communications plans, and risk strategies.
Itâs all just typing up a bunch of stuff that gets turned into PDFs and sits on the company Sharepoint. Sheâs at a high enough level now sheâs not working on any of the implementation, so you can use AI to just write everything for you.
Really, you could probably download templates for all these documents and change the details specific to your business. It would be much better for the environment, but these people wouldnât feel like theyâre doing anything meaningful if theyâre just playing corporate madlibs.
I could use AI in a bit of my work, but I need to make Facebook ads, emails, and manage a website. AI canât do any of that, itâs just an elaborate autocomplete.
And itâs telling the perspective on AI is âLook at all this amazing work Iâm getting done with AIâ and not âThe iPhone autocomplete can do my job faster than me, whatâs the point of my job?â
One of my only applicable use cases was a business case document. Copilot just wrote the most boring version of an SEO friendly article on Viva Engage, and even then I felt I had to step in and write some things myself to both make it more interesting and specific to the business. And say this goes ahead, AI canât put people into Viva Engage groups for me.
The CEO of the last place I was at was exactly the same with AI.
So fucking stupid.
3 times the dog went in and out the front door last night. The 4th time he tried I said âNo. Go to bedâ. He repaid me by ralphing on the carpet.
Gibson does that sometimes when I say no more treats youâve had enough.
Yaaaaaaaaaay. I love you Friday. Marry me.
Had an excellent swim with a new best amount of laps in a row which feels bloody excellent. Hopefully havenât killed myself for the class tomorrow.
Now for wine, because balance. đ„
Getting better at drums.
If I slow the part down by 50% and play it a few times I can speed back up and play it well most of the time.
I kinda like being a beginner with an instrument. I love that learning experience when you go from nothing to doing reasonably wel.
Pork roast is in the oven for dinner. I had a big piece so Iâve cut it in half and will do some sort of pulled pork for tacos with the other half. I put it on late so it wonât be ready for a while, I might need to organise cheese and crackers to tide me over until then.
2.5h left⊠On the plus side I got an unexpected Monday off! 3 day weekend wooo
I hadnât been following any news about The Pitt for a while but all the allegations coming out now about Tracy Ifeochor (Dr Collins) being asked to leave and not being in s2 are really sad. I canât believe she is part of a virulently homophobic church that promotes conversion therapy. Like how do you even get into TV and film acting in the modern era with these kinds of strongly held beliefs? Puts a new spin on her portrayal of a character handling some difficult conversations about abortionâŠ
Last day of my late-shift week. It has been a struggle but Iâve survived (so far). 7.30 canât come soon enough!
Start work in 9 mins. Currently in bed. Good thing itâs WFH day. This might be a job for coffeeâŠ
Woke up at 6 to turn off my 630 alarm. Which I didnât. Got up just after 7 regardless and still trying to internal engine started.
Today might be struggle town.
itâs early, wind is howling out there
i woke up to a tidy and well organised room, đ, maybe I can get some stuff done today
Of course my period starts on the full moon. All signs point to me being a witch, but I didnât get my letter to Strewthwarts School of Bewitchinâ and Broominâ, just saying.
My tram driver either has the hiccups or is smuggling a purse sized dog
Go on âŠ
2/10
The gods of random guessing were not with me today.
Im too ashamed to share my score this week.
7/10
Nvidia makes Labubu dolls. You canât change my mind.
No one makes Labubu dolls. They just arrive
5
6/10, not my finest work
This time difference makes me feel like I get up early and have a good start on the day đ
when I get back I will live on NZ time đ
Got tix for the Dracula ballet in September, Iâm really excited!

Was a good idea to come down here. Needed this. Back tm though but thatâs okay.
Got a shitload done. Good escape.
