I was undergoing a medical procedure and passed out and vomited all over myself
I asked the staff to call my wife so they went to the waiting room yelling her name and she just ignored them asi.ing it was another patient. Then I gave them her phone number and they tried calling her but she didn’t recognize the number so ignored the calls.
The nurse did not believe that my wife was there, she thought I was totally out of it and was trying not to look worried.
Later my wife thought it was the funniest thing.

My phone is silent, and it blocks unknown numbers.

Every call is either a phone scammer/telemarketer, or work. Thus, my phone stays on vibrate only.

I use “do not disturb” so it’s silent to everyone except people I care. I can’t miss my mother’s calls, she could need something and she’s older already

I don’t miss them, no.

Always have my phone on vibrate unless I’m expecting a call that I really don’t want to miss. But I also don’t get called randomly that much.

It’s never off silent. Period.

I’m jealous of people who can miss a call and not be bothered about it

They’ll leave a message if it’s important.

I’d rather people not have phones. Wouldn’t be able to come on here much though.

My ring tone is two longs and a short and a pause, vibrating on my right wrist. No one can hear it, and I get to know when someone’s leaving me a voicemail cause I don’t answer my phone.

For about six months I didn’t receive any incoming calls (no notifications either) and thought it was due to my VPN. Finally my car broke down and I found out the tow truck driver had been trying to call me so I finally got to fixing it, but it was bliss.
I’m considering just using Matrix for calls and getting a data-only plan. I’m not really into phone/SMS anyway.

Doesn’t he wonder, why his audiobooks are so boring?

I thought everyone has their phone on silent except for literal boomers
HikingVet@lemmy.ca 1 year ago
I only turn my phone to silent if I’m somewhere that specifically requires it: like a movie theatre.
Not a boomer and I don’t care for people telling me I am rude or whatever for having my phone make noise.
Frozengyro@lemmy.world 1 year ago
Ok boomer.
Sorry poor humor. I honestly don’t care if someone’s phone is ringing in public, only thing that annoys me is when they are playing on or watching things in public with the volume turned up.

Somebody needs attention. Look at the big important man getting phone calls and notifications. Pathetic.

I wear a bone conductive headset a lot of the time, and I have it set to read out calls or important messages to me. Smartwatches have a similar use, but goal is to not miss a call while also having the phone on silent.

My parents have the longest, most obnoxious ring tones for texts on their phones.

I have my own company, I need to have my phone on
Dumbkid@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 year ago
Millennial not a boomer, but I get so few phone calls my so I never bother putting my phone on silent. I do mute media volume tho don’t need to accidentally play video audio in public.
