Shame. The game looked great. But the beta state and bugs kept me from committing.
Not certain how the company plans to fix all of that with a smaller staff.

Makes sense.
Its literally a weekend job and a few bucks to quickly set up a fake site. Even with a single $20 donation are you already recouping your losses.

Ooof! That “View on GitHub” button made me believe it was the real one
- Comment on I this a firm and polite way to tell an opinionated coworker to stop pushing his agenda I don't care about? 3 days ago:
A firm statement is fine in my opinion.
“It sounds like a lot but we need to focus on the work and this isn’t something that’s helping.”
If it continues, a direct message of “Not my thing. I really don’t have a dog in this race.”

This isn’t a good idea. This is just burying the issue rather than confronting it.
They will bring it up later.

That comes off as a personal preference, which depending on the type of person, will walk all over you.

Uh what?

I ate a garden grown cucumber for the first time. I couldn’t believe how refreshing it tastes!
The supermarket version tastes like filler food.

This Pretty outdated (from 2007) and I position it in more pop sci than hard science. But from my own perspective, gardening makes me chill out for sure.
- Comment on Have you tipped your landlord for Mother's Day? 6 days ago:
It’s now the “Pay us more if you want your delivery to survive.”
I was sending flowers to my aunt, and it had a big warning about how tipping goes to the delivery driver, and it could mean the difference between good service and great service.
These fucking flowers were $150, and 20% is $30.
I sucked it up and paid but I’m going to just hire a random person next time.

Going to throw a shout out for Against The Storm.
It takes my favorite part of Age of Empires (setting up the dang base) and distills it into the perfect game.
Now if someone can figure out how to make the other half (the combat) really good.

It’s a mobile game from NetEase. I think it’s a excellent opportunity to be a madlad and review it like that because fuck them.

Bingo! It’s written in a “cover my ass” but that ass can get kicked by the courts.

The NPCs constantly broke immersion for me. It’s the same 10 people over and over again.
Or if you’re fighting baddies or cops, they all act the same.
- Comment on Why is currency so essential? 6 days ago:
Honestly XY is hard to put into practice.
It wants the Asker to elevate themselves to the level of thinking as the Answerer and have the forethought to ask “the right question”.
But it lacks the perspective of what it means to be new at something. When you’re new, you have no context of what the hell anything is. So you throw spaghetti at the wall and ask is this how you make pasta.
- Comment on Why is currency so essential? 1 week ago:
That’s fair.
Hope you see other alternatives because there’s a wide world out there that don’t believe money is the only aspect of life.
- Comment on Why is currency so essential? 1 week ago:
No not really. Seems like you’re putting this pressure on yourself.
- Comment on Why is currency so essential? 1 week ago:
it’s essential then ask why it’s deemed the only thing that is essential.
This is a very blanket statement and going to need a source here.

I think when they fixed all the obvious jank, went all in on the world building and strong storytelling, and timed it with the incredibly excellent Cyberpunk Edge runners series… Everything turned around.
The game is still pretty crappy as a open-world, loot still feels halfbaked and honestly combat is so dumb that I have to gimp myself and refuse to pick certain skills just to have some challenge.
But I ignore it because when the story pulls you in, you’re hooked!

Simpsons meme aside –
Those with currency can have significantly more options than those without it. I’m of a privileged state where if I wanted to drop everything and visit another country for two weeks, there’s nothing stopping me financially. Not many people have that luxury.

When I was 8yo and saw that Ally McBeal episode, I was blown away by the idea of men and women sharing a bathroom. Then my sister looked me in the eye and said, “We share a bathroom.”
Figured it out that early.

You’re not allowed to have electronics out in a court room.
A judge would rain hell on the juror for doing so.
Proof: I pulled out my phone as juror 32 and had a 15 minute lecture about the importance of the court system, privacy, and why my attention allowed America to stay democratic.
