Oh, yeah. Gardening is lovely, just don’t expect to be able to feed yourself (or anyone else) by planting some tomatoes by your kitchen window, starting now. It would be a while before you could harvest, and it would be a very small yield, assuming you get a good healthy crop. A lot of people act like the average Joe or Jane could feed their household and neighbors with minimal effort and a few square feet of free space by their window, when that’s just not realistic - at least, not for most people.

It’s a little late to start a food garden. You won’t be getting any harvests for a while, and it won’t be much. Best to stock up on shelf-stable goods now, and build community for mutual aid.

Did everyone forget about the galaxy? It’s also a giant circle, and the sun orbits it like we orbit the sun.
Perhaps the real question should be “Where is the Galaxy taking us?”

And 45 in Fahrenheit is just cool, light jacket weather.

Maybe in some scientific settings, but nowhere else. Why would it be logical to use a temperature system in every-day life who’s base is set to a temperature that doesn’t exist on Earth? Celsius and Fahrenheit are human-scale measurements, useful in daily applications. Celsius is a bit more logic-y, and Fahrenheit is intuitive.

It’s the difference between the culinary use of the word and the biological use of the word. I thought we already figured that out?

A bit of philosophy/media would help as well, it doesn’t help to teach someone science, if they don’t understand what science is.

They can also go in a plane, so it’s not really a skill issue. They might not be allowed on board, but that’s an issue of discrimination, not skill.
The real skill issue is how much better they can swim compared to you, or really any human.
