A buddy of mine helped his sister move from AZ to Socal, he comes from a family of city-planner types, so he’s constantly going on about roadway designs. He told me that while my area has better constructed roads, and our drivers are terrible, that Socal had worse roads, but great drivers (road discipline wise, at least). Probably sample bias but neat trivia.

I was gonna say the same. I’m middle east coast, and one day will be 85f and the next can be below freezing, and alternate each day for a week after, and that’s before precipitation/wind.

Bro sent wildlife photos of animals fucking to Jeffery Epstein, saying it “seemed more appropriate than anything I could put in words.”
I wanted it to be… I dunno, something else. Ugghhh.

I’ve seen one many times driving to work, or home from family visits (on the same road) and I always make sure to see my finger flying out the window. The last time I saw them, they were having an argument, and I choose to believe they were arguing over something to the time of,
“I HATE RIDING IN THIS THING, WE ALWAYS GET FLIPPED OFF”
“IDK WHAT TO TELL YOU, IT WAS A GREAT INVESTMENT”
Even if that’s not it, seeing people be miserable in a cybercuck makes me happy on the inside.

As a millennial, that irritates me. Every day I find a new reason to be happy(ish…) that I didn’t end up with kids.
- Comment on Was there a way to see English speaking communities only? 1 week ago:
Still weird af. I’m on hot as well and as I said, only like 2,maybe 3 communities I see per day aren’t in English. Ich-iel, informatica, and similar. Never enough to concern myself over. Perhaps it’s the instances? I have .ml, and a couple of others blocked, but I can’t think of any specifically that aren’t English primarily.
- Comment on Was there a way to see English speaking communities only? 1 week ago:
As a first-language English speaker: there’s maybe two whole communities that I scroll past on my day-to-day that aren’t in English. I’m not sure why a setting would make much difference.

Holy shit, just reading the plot from the wiki page I can tell it was bad. Honestly the way you described it initially made it sound way more interesting, as if there was only the one alien struggling to navigate human society as it falls in love with a human.
Instead it’s full of post-societal Armageddon survivor main-character tropes that could only have been written by the same person that decided vampires sparkle instead of smolder in the sun.
- Comment on My father the tween literary critic 1 week ago:
Wait there’s a movie? Please link me a wiki page lmao
- Comment on My father the tween literary critic 1 week ago:
No, it’s an existential horror novel about having your body stolen so some alien can get laid. It just has romantic tie-ins with the alien trying to get laid.
- Comment on When did it become normalized to start passing credit card processing fees to the customer? 2 weeks ago:
Only chiming in for statistics. Where I live NC, USA; Almost nowhere charges a fee for credit/debit card use unless it’s a third-party ATM. But even then those typically are only there to account for cash-only payments like lottery or coin changers.
Not saying that it doesn’t suck, but I acknowledge that if your entire business is providing ATM services, a one-time sale is money lost, which is money that would go to support/maintenance.
I work at the dry-clean counter of a laundromat, and it’s cheaper to use quarters (which everyone has and can be exchanged anywhere) than to manufacture proprietary payment options. We only have like 6 machines that take credit cards, and they put a $10 hold on the account.
Compared to a $3 ATM fee to change $20 into quarters, it’s a million times more efficient, economically and ecologically.

I’ve been following these from the first edition, and now I finally understand the reason he did the thing.

YMMV, but less than a month after Colorado legalized, my dealer brought me headies after I asked for mids. Told him I wanted mids for the price-point and he said he couldn’t find mids anymore.
The stuff at the store is still a little better than what he brings (typically) for similar price-point, but yeah, lower quality stuff is getting less common.

So this is basically just The Deep from The Boys. Like every part of it except the de-beaking.

Not sure, the only game I played before BG3 was Dark Alliance 2 on PS2 around 20 years ago. Well that and homebrew 3.5e/5e tabletop, but that obviously was unrelated story-wise.

Yeah, not sure who was in which games, but Minsc and Jaheira were grouped with one of the protagonists, and at least one of the games had another Bhal spawn.
- Comment on A Baldur's Gate HBO series is in the works, will be set directly after Baldur's Gate 3 with new and returning characters 3 weeks ago:
Somewhat. It’s story is mostly independent, but it does take place after 2 and therefore has canonized several of the decisions you could make in 2, as well as a few returning characters.

Agreed, just gonna point out that not all (though certainly most) of them are American. Elon and Prince Andrew being good examples.
Side thought, I’d like to see the ratio of billionaires by nationality. I imagine most would be either American or Chinese, but would be interesting numbers to look at. 🤔
