Dove & Jalapeno poppers are a labor day tradition here in Texas.

Sounds like a Robot Chicken sketch. Imagine it animated with claymation.
- Comment on bmw 1 week ago:
A good friend of mine was a BMW mechanic for years. He favorite joke was: “You know what the most sole crushingly pointless job is? The guy who installs turn signals at the BMW factory.”
- Comment on bmw 1 week ago:
The Altimas turn signals simply don’t work. The driver is unaware.
The BMWs signals work fine. The driver just thinks they are too good to use turn signals.

I should have dragged the trashcan outside and asked them to help me take it to the dumpster.
- Comment on [deleted] 3 weeks ago:
I went to college in a small town, there was a festival every fall in the old downtown area, and a religious group would get a booth right in front of the bar we liked to go to. They would forcibly hand out those tiny little new testaments to everyone trying to walk into the bar. The bar owner put a 50 gallon trash can right inside the door. It was full of those bibles. Such a waste of paper.

See, my cynical self assumed they both were hoping to lock you down as a BF or husband to mooch off of you, and cheat like crazy while you are deployed.
Maybe I have just heard those stories too many times, from people I know who were in the military.
- Comment on They don't make 'em like they used to 3 weeks ago:
Fun fact: It’s still used to describe an access hole in a barrel, or drum. At work, I sell stuff that sometimes comes in 55gal drums. I regularly have to explain what a bunghole is to people who have never worked with drums before, because they think I am being vulgar at first.
- Comment on What is the maximum number of potatoes you could grow in your house or on property you own before it becomes a crime? 4 weeks ago:
As long as you don’t live under the oppressive thumb of an HOA or city lawn ordinances, you can grow as many potatoes as is physically possible within your available space.
But when you run out of practical space, you will probably think about going vertical. But building tall structures without planning permission or city approval is likely where you will run into trouble.

Have some children.

“Ribbed, for their pleasure.”
- Comment on A whole bunch of racing games are cheap at the moment, and there are so many that it's difficult to look through them all. What are your recommendations? 4 weeks ago:
I’ve been having a blast playing Descenders. I also picked up Hot Wheels Unleashed to play with my Hot Wheels obsessed 4 yr old.
- Comment on Gamers have you ever been in a game competition or something similar? 4 weeks ago:
Summer of 2005. Played one round of CS Source on stage at CPL. We lost.

I was disgusted and really needed to know what this was. Since nobody seems to have answered I did a reverse image search:

- Comment on Bird 5 weeks ago:
I’ve met a few who don’t know humans are animals. But I have met a ton who do not believe that humans are animals. They are generally far less pleasant people to deal with than the first group.

I can see where some confusion might come from with a student who doesn’t really pay attention or care. Both cells and atoms are tiny and contain a “nucleus” so If you are working with barely understood half remembered facts it might get confusing.

I really enjoyed the show. Wish it got more seasons. I watched it long before reading the books. Yeah, I think the hotel as “poe” in the show was better than in the books.
- Comment on Where are all the successful "red cities"? 1 month ago:
Makes sense with horseshoe theory. Red for authoritarians no matter left or right. Red is a warning.

This made me think of the Altered Carbon books, where some people intentionally get diseases for fun.
- Comment on See their point 1 month ago:
I still have nostalgia for stuff I listened to at 14. But I would say my music tastes solidified more around the age of 25. Fairly broad tastes in music depending on my mood. It’s easier to list bands and music I hate than everything I like. I suspect a lot of people are the same.
- Comment on Mmmm suppositories. 1 month ago:
There was a guy I knew in college who insisted everyone call him “South.”
“Put some South in yo mouth!” was his constant catchphrase.

You can fit 74 Germanys inside a Texas roundabout. The European mind cannot comprehend this.

Crazy how this meme is supposedly almost a decade old and this is the first time I’ve ever seen it.
- Comment on Why don't Americans use electric kettles? 1 month ago:
I have one, but it only gets used a few of times a month. Usually by my wife when she just wants to make a small amount of coffee in the French press, or to boil water for instant foods. If you don’t really drink tea, they aren’t that useful for the amount of counter space they take up, and I can see why they aren’t as common here as they are in the UK.
