I’m very proud of how I got my kids obsessed with Cheezoid from that Mitchell and Web Look skit. The girlfriend isn’t too happy about it but there are much worse things on the internet they could be watching
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 days ago
that could be very amusing at meal times 🤭
tombruzzo@aussie.zone 3 days ago
We’ve already had a lot of fun mistaking cheese for petrol, even if the kids don’t fully know what petrol is

I have my door open. The fireball is playing peek-a-boos today.

I’m a bit sad about David Jones collapsing. When I was spending lots of time in the city I used to love walking through there. The spring flower displays were spectacular. Online shopping has probably contributed, plus a hefty dose of mismanagement and value extraction by private equity. I still prefer in person shopping, being able to see what I’m buying and trying on. I think there still could be a place for them, but unlikely a buyer/investor will be found. RIP to an era.

I have hated the David Jones city store ever since I turned around too fast and ran slap bang face on into a mirror on a column. That was in the early 2000s and I’ve never been in the store since.
I miss Buckley & Nunns. Their ecclesiastical department was a wonder - all the little old lades embroidering church vestments, stacked mitres and dog collars on shelves and more black floor length gowns than you could shake a stick at. I never knew about it until my then employer required some repairs to his legal wig - more repairs that I could do with glue and some hairs salvaged from my horse’s tail. Cos they also did repairs to legal and mayoral ceremonial garments too. I sorta wonder where church vestments come from nowadays.
Alamutjones@aussie.zone 3 days ago
There are shops that will do it. They sell the vestments, the incense, all the silverware. Everything you need to fit out a church
SituationCake@aussie.zone 3 days ago
Must have been interesting to see. It’s not something I’ve ever thought about, but I guess those items must come from somewhere!
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 days ago
they had better service than Myers tho on occasion they could be a bit snobby

Texas has been blue a long time, they just didn’t vote. Houston and Austen are very liberal cities.
no jill stein to split the vote and russian/fascist stoked anti-immigrant rhetoric is rejected
they can’t use palestine as a dividing issue next election, people are tired of it, they will try very hard to use anti-billionaire rhetoric to split the dem vote in the next presidential election, saying the dems take billionaire money and are the same as republicans so don’t vote
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 days ago
if you look at the main page of aussie zone dividing and putting down the dems using the arguments I stated above has already begun
it’s a total q e d

I have $270 of Mailchimp credits I bought eight(!) years ago. Not sure if it’s a visual glitch but they were supposed to expire in 2019… I have absolutely nothing to use them on these days either. I hope the multinational financial technology company that now owns them has spent the money wisely.
tombruzzo@aussie.zone 4 days ago
Hey, let me know if you want some help with email marketing. I’ll help you burn through those credits
Pilk@aussie.zone 3 days ago
I bought them to use with clients but had plenty left over. But if you have a proposal to use them somehow let me know!

Wow! I should have gone to the other CBM not the one horse racing adjacent. No people rolling in gutters yet, but transport is utterly fucked. It also appears to be the year of the cobalt blue suit with pink shirt.
tombruzzo@aussie.zone 3 days ago
As long as it’s not too bright, a navy blue suit and salmon shirt is a good combination. Take it as a sign people are going to see actual menswear specialists and not just buying shit off the rack at Tarocash or Connor
Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 3 days ago
cobalt
Just like what’s coursing through a few horsies veins 🙃
Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 3 days ago
Well, it’s Oaks Day at Flemington today. The ladies all wear black & white, so the cobalt blue suit would fit with that I think.
Catfish@aussie.zone 3 days ago
Not sure about that. There were some magnificent pink and glitter things also. Tailored approximately like bin bags.
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 3 days ago
No that’s Derby Day that’s a black & white dress code.
