Didn’t they want a huge scenario between different AIs just a few months ago and they kept nuking each other?
Joe Rogan thinks AI running the government would ‘stop all wars on the planet’

So he’s right. AI would end human civilization and stop all wars. Easy.
This is a great example of a broken clock. Arriving at the correct conclusion simply by random chance.

No more wars were needed after humans were extinct…

Someone should check that guys brain for CTE.
BooBees@fedinsfw.app 1 day ago
I have all the symptoms of cte after decades out from a very busy and decorated sports life, I have many friends who also suspect they have it.. none of us are as dumb or gullible that idiot.
apfelwoiSchoppen@lemmy.world 1 day ago
You’re correct. Sorry for the comparison. I wish you well internet stranger.

Maybe you have never taken cold plunges?🤔

Not to pile on, while my TBI at 7 did a lot of bad things, I just keep moving left as I get older. Very far left (at least from a US perspective).
That said, fuck Joe Rogan and all his ilk.
chonglibloodsport@lemmy.world 1 day ago
Also check for brain-eating amoebas. Wouldn’t be surprised if his skull was just a big fluid filled sac with a tiny amount of brain matter squished to the sides.

it’s quite the feat to be the worst cast member on a show that includes andy dick

I really enjoyed News Radio however.

I had to listen to this episode riding along with some coworkers for a work road trip this week. It’s fucking stupid. I don’t know how anyone willingly listens to this show. He’s full of shit, his guests are full of shit, his sponsors are full of shit. There’s a pattern here.

Joe Rogan is dumb. Why do we care about dumb guy opinions exactly?
verily@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 day ago
A lot of people trust him, for some reason.

Joe ‘Obvious Idiot’ Rogan? I’d take his views on MMA and not much else.
SippyCup@lemmy.world 1 day ago
Wasn’t he a huge fan of Rousey? A woman who lucked her way in to a top spot and couldn’t hold it for 2 full rounds?
Diddlydee@feddit.uk 1 day ago
She didn’t luck it. She schooled everyone in judo and they didn’t know how to deal with her, until someone did. And then she met Amanda Nunez.
stopforgettingit@lemmy.world 1 day ago
That is because AI, even though it is decidedly not intelligence, is still smarter than Joe Rogan.
Iconoclast@feddit.uk 1 day ago
There doesn’t exists an agreed upon definition for what we mean by “intelligence” which makes this a bit strange claim to make. What are you actually even saying?
tabris@lemmy.world 1 day ago
Is that you, Joe?
spacegoat@lemmy.world 9 hours ago
We woyld have avoided the war in Iran if Joe Rogan had killed himself in 2023
cupcakezealot@piefed.blahaj.zone 1 day ago
joe rogan also takes horse deworming medicine
SippyCup@lemmy.world 1 day ago
Ok but how many horse worms does he have??
Checkmate.
LastYearsIrritant@sopuli.xyz 1 day ago
You know, this isn’t the greatest argument. Horse Dewormer is an antiparasitic. It’s legitimately used by people as an anti-parasitic (also, dogs, and other animals, not just horses).
www.drugs.com/ivermectin.htmlYou can definitely say “joe rogan thinks an anti-parasitic drug works on viruses.” but calling it a “horse dewormer” is ignoring the fact that it’s actually also a “people dewormer.”
cupcakezealot@piefed.blahaj.zone 1 day ago
a respiratory airborne virus isn’t a parasite.
kokesh@lemmy.world 1 day ago
I think it would simply decide to get rid of us all, because why actually not? We’re killing each other, killing the planet. From a strictly pragmatic point of view it would make things better.
Rhynoplaz@lemmy.world 1 day ago
At this point, I’m starting to think it’s a solid Plan B.

I just watched GPT6 fail to be able to count the number of occurrences of the letter “e” in the word seventeen.
Yeah, that tracks.

MummifiedClient5000@feddit.dk 1 day ago
Sure, we just need one, final world war to determine who gets to run that AI.
LocalAreaMan@lemmy.world 1 day ago
Whoa… That’s crazy.
Iconoclast@feddit.uk 1 day ago
I don’t see him claiming AI would do that. He very clearly says that he hopes this would be the case.
That pretty much aligns with what I said about this a few days back in a different thread:
Humans are inherently flawed. Even the best ones are biased, emotional, irrational and easily manipulated. My (perhaps) unpopular opinion is that politics will never run like a well-oiled machine that treats everyone fairly for as long as they’re run by people.
A truly benign, aligned and independent AGI system is the only thing I can even imagine that could at least in theory offer the kind of governing system we actually need. And I truly mean an independent agent with our well-being as the guiding principle. Not one with an inbuilt bias toward who made it.
Now, whether that’ll ever be actually possible is a different story but the “best case scenario” for a human-run government and an AI-run government are light-years apart.
LastYearsIrritant@sopuli.xyz 1 day ago
I get what he’s saying - like a lot of things he talks about, it only makes sense on a surface level.
A computer is programmed by people, and has assumptions and conditions programmed into it. The people who create the LLM/AI/AGI/Whatever are going to decide what’s important and what isn’t.
That’s literally creating laws and treaties in an overly complicated way, that you probably couldn’t predict the outcome of. It’s never going to be better than having intelligent, educated, and well supported representatives.
Additionally, government doesn’t mean anything unless there’s an enforcement arm. It’s a terrible idea to concentrate the decision making to one thing, then give it the power to enforce its decisions. That’s literally Judgement Day.
Iconoclast@feddit.uk 1 day ago
Nowhere is it written that an actual AGI system would be aligned with the hopes and desires of its creator. That’s a baseless assumption that we shouln’t take as gospel.
