personally yes but I feel like we’d probably be weird about people who want to eat it like we are with breast milk. like I’d imagine humans would reserve it for feeding infants like how birds do with their regurgitated food.
Would you eat 'honey' if humans spat phlegm on pollen and then dehydrated it?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kuchikamizake
Kuchikamizake (口噛み酒; mouth-chewed sake) or kuchikami no sake (口噛みの酒) is a type of sake produced by a process involving human saliva as a fermentation starter.

ohh this is the thing they do in the Your Name anime

They do that in South America where tribes spit into a communal pot. I think they were chewing cassava or maize or something like that. There are enzymes (like amylase) in saliva that break down the starches into fermentable sugars.
I think I’d pass, personally. I hear it’s quite sour and I hate sour beer.

That’s a misleading description of what bees do.
That being said, if we could actually make honey that way, id be making my own and be happy with it

Would you eat cheese if it were made from human milk?
AskewLord@piefed.social 2 hours ago
breast milk flavored ice cream was a thing, and is still available.

Don’t look up how traditional honey-mead are made…

Depends on whether or not it tasted as good as honey. Even honey itself can taste wildly different, depending on what pollen was gathered by the bees to make it. Clover honey is the most common, but blackberry honey tastes even better IMO.
Grabthar@lemmy.world 12 hours ago
I can’t stand honey. It smells like when people sneeze, so I have never wanted to even taste it. So I guess bee phlegm and human phlegm smell the same to me?
AskewLord@piefed.social 2 hours ago
you can smell sneezes? or taste them?
wild.

It’s a hard no from me.
Honestly being vegan I don’t understand how people aren’t bothered by cow’s breast milk but maybe that’s just me.
Bluegrass_Addict@lemmy.ca 2 hours ago
I eat meat, lots of it. also because we eat to survive, not to appease our feelings.
undefined@lemmy.hogru.ch 1 hour ago
we eat to survive
Oh you must live in the Arctic Circle or similar where there’s essentially no plants.
