Comment on Would you eat 'honey' if humans spat phlegm on pollen and then dehydrated it?
Grabthar@lemmy.world 4 weeks agoThe smell comes from a person’s saliva which often gets spewed into the air after a sneeze. The droplets hang in the air a long time. Some peoples’ sneezes have a sickly sweet odour that smells the same as honey to me. Other sneezes don’t smell like much of anything to me though. I don’t know if I’m smelling an infection byproduct, a food, or maybe a lack of hydration causing their saliva to have a strong smell, but it always smells the same to me. As for taste? I think I’d rather not explore that. I imagine it might taste like it smells, so like honey.
