My wife’s family had one of these when we were dating. Her mom basically used it to go to work and the grocery store. They let my wife and I and our friends take it on a few road trips.
The Previa was peak van. So much space, so maneuverable. I would roll in that Previa right now if it was still an option.
They still had it for a few years after we got married but my father-in-law gets antsy when it comes to cars and when he decides he wants something else he obsesses over it so it disappeared one day.

I work for my local post office, and one of my rural carriers drives one of these for his route. It has a supercharger. I’m so envious.

Always wondered why this seemed to be the most popular color.
funkajunk@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
It was the only color

They made many colors. We had an emerald green and a gold one.

I used to love seeing this dang van back in the day. Would love to buy one and fix it up someday.

A Previa is not a shitpost. It’s a work of art. Fuckin’ thing can haul entire sheets of drywall, with no problem at all.

I’ve seen them used as overland trucks. Things are awesome. Them and the Chevy Astro are two vehicles that I think unfairly got dunked on.

That’s what I did with my awd supercharged previa. Got through sand so much better than any truck with the weight distribution and being so light anyways. Really miss it. Would 100% buy one again if it ever comes up. I kind of want to do a rally build previa, even with bigger offroad tires it still drifted so nice on gravel. Such a low CG.

We just sold our 1991 Previa. Even better, it got sold to a family just up the street, so it’s still in town. Now I’m waiting to sell my '04 Impala. Got that bulletproof 3800 V6, but no buyers so far.

And keep them dry. Yet the work vehicle of choice is the 12 mpg brodozer. Previa was even mid engined.
