Today reminds me why I stopped being super into IT in my personal life.

For those who get it: Have 2 identical thin client lenovos. One is a torrent box, the other is supposed to be a media player. Spend insane amount of time cloning the drive from one to the other. Normal solution won’t let you deploy because it’s locked behind a pay wall. Grab cracked version. Doesn’t work. Try several more. Eventually find nfo that states everything works EXCEPT DEPLOY!!! Finally find a solution. Burn boot iso with Rufus. Re do imaging. It works!!! Plug into TV. Boot logo, but blackscreen in OS. Fuck around until I finally get it working. Onboard graphics card too weak to decode large mkv. Get angry. List it on marketplace. ___

It was stuttering on anything larger than 50gb and that’s reading of a usb C ssd.
Streaming off an smb share was better but not worth it. I’m keeping it to create a private cloud with a spare 10tb drive.
Google has started scanning my cloud drive for pirated software and blocking the upload.
Apparently works by hash but who knows.

Hmm, I think I have a hairline crack in my tablet’s screen . There is a very faint discolouration in a line and I can just barely feel it. It is getting on in years, maybe it is time to start planning a replacement.

It’s mostly just annoying me because I keep thinking there is a smear on the screen. I looked it up and this model is 10 years old, so I think I’ll be looking to replace soon anyway. I’m tossing up getting a 2 in 1 laptop instead of a tablet, but I’m really not sure if they are a good option or not. It would be nice to have the full programs available and I mostly use it at work & home, so don’t need it to be super portable.

Rode through a cluster of those little bugs you can only see when the sun hits them perfectly this morning and had that thing happen where a bug hits the back of your throat perfectly and you swallow it, and that thing where a bug flies into your eye and gets stuck in there happen both at the same time.

Got the stressies today. Need to get some writing done for a project. Need to nick out and buy some food I forgot yesterday. Need to do some meal prep and washing. Lying in oodie stressing. Why are brains like this???
Ok. Shower. Coffee. Round up and put washing on. Stand in kitchen thinking while I have coffee. Nick to shops. Quick walk along beach or just sit in sun. Home. More coffee and quick snack. Computer time for the afternoon. No naps. I repeat no naps.

Writing can be hard, especially when you NEED to do it. I got taught a method for writing SEO slop before AI where you write the headline, then the subheadings underneath, and just go in and add further context under each subheading to flesh it out. I hope something like that can help you get started

Yep that’s the way I do it! then bounce around the bits I’m inspired to write. This one is hard because I thought it was done and then the client suggested a reasonably big structural change. I agree with them but in my head I was at the finish line :-. But I have coffee, snacks, oodie and cat visitor curled up on the desk…lets go!

A tale of two youtube algorithms
I have my normal YT I log into , it has my subscriptions and such, nice channels like archeology, movie discussions, etc
and then there is my non channel I look at , not logged into, a browser that doesn’t track me so much
and the difference is like night and day
the not logged into one is scary, sometimes I will watch something just to see what other people are watching 😐😢 crazy insane shit like Prince Andrew is a scapegoat is the worst thing I have seen this week , so many fake and AI self help where the message is always be alone, other people are bad, you are always right
what would a person become if they watched all that hate and division , I reckon in 3 months they would be nuts
