I think even a lot of news organizations who covered the previous protest don’t care that much about this.
Oh man, I guess we non-Americans will get a lot of entertainment in the next years, thou.

Dude, Cosplay? This picture is gold. The police arresting the statue of LIBERTY?
As a german antifaschist, there is nothing wrong with wearing costumes to a demonstration. Our German police surely does not think so (Vermmummungsverbot, isn’t thid a nice German word?).
The goal of demonstrations is raising awareness and showing unity and strength. That requires powerful images for the public.
And maybe, if you are not a German, look up Rosenmontag and what happens here.
This probably would not be illegal due to vermummungsverbot as their face is clearly visible.
Yes, that is what Americans need. Awareness…
Lol.
Yes it is. People not participating need to be motivated to participate next time. They need to see how many people there are and that his is not a revolution (yet) but peaceful demonstrations
You are probably around 12 years old so you wouldnt know how peaceful Demos work and what their point is. Which is fine, but you shouldnt make fun of things you dont understad. Maybe ask about it in school tomorrow.
People when the french dress in symbolic clothing for a protest: Woo, go france! Yellow jacket riot!
People when americans dress in symbolic clothing for a protest: Ha ha! Stupid losers in cosplay!
My favorite has been people in those inflatable T-Rex costumes, chicken costumes, and clown makeup.
Just makes ICE look even more ridiculous arresting a chicken.
Yes that’s exactly the point. If you are dressed like an inflatable innocent and cute/funny cat and ice is beating you, the public perception is the costume person was completely innocent. They can’t spin the news as easily.
The images will show police beating up a cartoon character. A stuffed toy. A school mascot.
Not anyone who deserves it.
It’s actually been great because every time they try to show video of the violent protesters it’s just videos of what looks like a city get together or festival.
That’s different people, and I think we all can safely dismiss anything from the second group.
Make fun of those fighting for Democracy and the rights of the oppressed, really helping. How dare they try to enjoy themselves a little while doing so instead of crying at home alone all day or suicide bombing the white house.
Not to mention this costume is very symbolic, which you probably didnt understand.
What arehave you been doing for the oppressed besides posting memes every 20min for 12 hours straight?
Yeah!
You can dress up for a protest… People being fun and memorable and putting in effort does not diminish but serves their cause.
If you want them to start a civil war instead and denounce protest say so.
Upvote for Bewbz
People wore cosplay in war before. Cosplay at a protest isn’t that crazy of a thought.
As a non American, I am more than certain that any other form of peaceful rebellion would end up in a lot of dead people by police brutality.
Her commitment is impressive on a chilly day.
How can you tell that its a chilly day just by looking at t-OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHH.

If you know you’re gonna get arrested; make the photo memorable.
