A wet and windy day to follow such a lovely day yesterday. Most of my cardboard managed to stay in place, just a couple of bits that were not weighted down enough. The bins were another story, there are wheelie bins strewn everywhere up and down the street, plus a lot of rubbish blowing around from bins that fell before collection.
I took a trip to Bunnings and now have picture hooks, a new hose connector for the tap, weed killer for the path and an edger for the grass. That used up all the gift certificates I had that needed to be used in store (thanks to Flybuys and Telstra), plus a few dollars off a pre-paid Mastercard I’ve been gifted. I’ve still got a couple of hundred left on the Mastercard to buy mulch & fertiliser etc. before I have to start using any of my own money. 🙂
Finishing off some work tasks and enjoying some mellow jazzy beats playlist Spotify made for me.
Weather looks shit, but I’m trying to make the best of the gloom.

I just discovered my last Dinnerly meal is missing some peri-peri sauce. It’s used to coat some chicken before roasting, and hopefully my impromtu mix of chilli powder, tomato powder and a sprinkle of cajun seasoning works out ok as a replacement.
honey
oh, I forgot, I did add some brown sugar and a touch of vinegar as well. It worked pretty well, although I could have done with a touch more chilli and a touch less tomato.
I tried the Canoli from the new shop, ehh, I’m glad I tried them but at ~$3-$5 ea I’m not rushing back.
Canoli is expensive but when it’s good it’s hard to say no
As other said, it’s either okay or God tier. Very little in between.
There’s a Canoli stand in our shopping centre and they’re very mid.
There’s a cake shop in Tullamarine that does absolutely amazing ones. Not worth the venture out, but if you’re ever in the area, Eiffel Tower cakes is the bomb.
They pretty much catered every wog function, I have ever been to, with pastries and cakes.
I’ve done Assembly Drive so many times then headed for the Spicy Corner in Dawson St Tulla for Sri Lankan. Ah the memories.
Buying your own shells and custard could be a good investment! They’re pretty easy to make.

Nothing like a firmware and soft update to start the day.
Well I’m quite happy to stop working while that happens.

I picked some pork belly pieces and chicken thighs on clearance today.
I’m excited to see how the pork bellies pieces turn out in the air fryer over the weekend.

Pork belly goes good in airfryer. Nicely crackles up the rind. Great way to render out plenty of pork fat for other dishes too.
