Partnerâs dad got him an air fryer for Christmas, it arrived this week. As soon as all the packaging was out
Mickey claimed it
just_kitten@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
I was expecting a picture of a cat in an airfryer, dammitâŠ
StudChud@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
Sorry to disappoint! But I can guarantee he wouldnât fit in the air fryer đ heâd do his best ofc hahaha

My not pet peeve today is little ones mum has (essentially) given the all good for little one to move to Melbourne with me so that is one gigantic hurdle cleared.
Things may change and we will discuss it more in depth later on, but for now it means I can move ahead with preliminary plans. Itâs a relief.
Seagoon_@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
wonderful news
may you both be very happy here đ
00Steve@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
Tried out my new hydration vest today, fits really well and feels good when running :) Also got my MTB last weekend, just need to go and get helmet and accessories and can start training on that. Now just need to find a good second hand Kayak for us to train that part!! Excited to start working towards our first sprint race in May :)

Feeling a bit sad and anxious tonight. Cried a few times at work today and just feeling blue. I think coming back from a holiday straight to work is a bad idea, but I hate hate HATE that I still have to give up holiday time for work, but it does make work extra⊠soul dampening.
Out to dinner with friends, home to do some cleaning, Iâm so tired but I just donât want to sleep.
PeelerSheila@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
Hugs mate, sorry youâre feeling blue đ
just_kitten@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
Hugs. I did the same thing as well - going back to work less than 24 hours after holiday was not great. I hope being with your friends lifts your spirit a bit đ
Seagoon_@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
so many hugs

my pet peeve
The throw away economy. Iâm so tired of poorly made objects. Itâs a waste of money and time, a major cause of pollution and itâs shitty to have shitty stuff that doesnât work or falls apart.
( and how long is the vintage stuff I buy going to last? )
SituationCake@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
Very much agree. Itâs all about maximum volume sales, maximum consumption, minimum possible manufacturing costs. If stuff is crap people will be forced to buy more, yay for the shareholders! Itâs hard to find quality items anymore even if you try and are willing to pay more.
StudChud@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
Ah the methheads are in the alley again lol. Thereâs one particular dude who loves to spit and swear, you can hear him huck up a biiiiiig goober and the splat on the concrete. This time he was clapping as well, so I starting clapping back, mimicking him đ
He got very angry and even more sweary, and a neighbour yelled at him to shut the fuck up đđ
I shouldnât provoke them from my lofty fourth floor balcony, I know. But I needed a giggle lol
Not like the police do anything about them anyway so đ€·đŒââïž

My pet peeve is being blamed for things that arenât my responsibility.
Has already started today with new manager.
Duenan@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
That sucks. Were you allowed to defend yourself to refute those claims?
Anyway it doesnât sound like itâll be a good place for you to stay from the sounds of things even if you could get a raise.
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
Thereâs a magic number. And I doubt theyâll accept it. May not even offer a dollar more.
Duenan@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
Just winging today with some slight inspiration.
Quickly whipped up a stir fry with mixed up various sauces and whatever I had on hand.
I hope it tastes ok.
noodles!
bacon@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
We approve.
Duenan@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
Iâm also approving right now.
Seagoon_@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
I wish I could approve better.
PeelerSheila@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
That looks deeelicious!
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
Had my first meeting with the new manager. I donât think Iâll be staying.
Llabyrinthine@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
That bad?
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
Yeah itâs really, really bad.
Too much to type, but basically Iâm already being blamed for things I have no control over and have never had to do.
just_kitten@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
Ah man the sads seems to be coming back again. Couldnât get out of bed on time today and had a whopping headache, so swapped field work for desktop work and rocked up late. Feeling dat ennui⊠and wisps of depressed thoughts about my apartment/life again ahead of an empty weekend (should be chores and cooking but euhâŠ)
Well I have the pizza I promised myself and S1 of Severence lined up to re-watch so that should see me through tonight.
imoldgreeeg@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
I give you permission for a floppy weekendâŠchores and care tasks are morally neutral. You can flop. But get some sun / trees / water in your eyeballs at some point. Notice some birds.
I am planning a severance rebinge too so happy to fill up the thread with chat about it. BRING IT ON.
just_kitten@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
Definitely need to prioritise the naycha over ticking things off a list⊠I suck at motivating myself to do things out of genuine bodily happiness and stick to screens even though I know itâs not what I want. I hope Iâll wake up making good choices tomorrow! Maybe Iâll start with drinking enough water tonightâŠ
Spam away the Severence thoughts! The subreddit is a bit too crazy and intense for me to read ATM (3 years of waiting will do that. I donât remember all the main theories) Just finished ep 1 and soaking up the delightfully unsettling and suspenseful vibe. Love Patricia Arquetteâs mid-Atlantic accent⊠And oh boy, every detail hits so differently watching it a second time round! Onto e2 and the Helly R/Helena stairwell scene makes so much senseâŠ
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
I understand the feeling of the empty weekend. Iâm forcing myself to go out tomorrow night.
Seagoon_@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
I have the imax on the next block , I go to that sometimes

Iâm glad to be home after a long day. One of the managers asked me if I have another job and asked why I donât. Then he said heâs glad Iâll be studying, so I can justify not having another job that is more reliable and consistent. That was an even bigger push to start applying for something else.
I later go on to find out that a girl whoâs only job is this one got fired because she used her discount card too much. She said she shared it with a couple of family members, but somehow, they spent a few thousand dollars using her discount card.
The person who shared her card with more than ten people didnât get fired. Although, she racked up less money than the person who only shared it with two people.
customer interaction today
Me: you purchased this over X days ago, so unfortunately I cannot refund this today. Customer: really? scoffs and walks away Me: next! * customer comes back * Customer: itâs only been ___ days, not however many days you said." Me: Iâm positive itâs over that. Do you want me to bring up a calendar and we can count together? Customer: yes I get to a week and then she realises.
people are eccentric, potential trigger warning, someone's way of dealing with trauma
Customer: I placed an order online and it says it has arrived. Can you get it for me? Me: sure. The order had just arrived from couriers. I go and grab it. Customer: Thank you so much. Have a great day. No, have a great weekend. And may your children live happy and healthy lives. If you donât have children, extend that to your pets. She moves to the side and opens her order, which was a t-shirt that said, âI am a victim of paedophilia. __ raped me.â I hope that having the t-shirt didnât prolong her distress or lead to someone else reading it and being triggered by it.

In hindsight 2 strong coffees in a row after a fortnight of minimal coffee might not have been wise đł
My tummy hurtsâŠ
danwritesbooks@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
My irrational pet peeve today is seeing these cooking videos on social media where the people are just so aggressively doing things. Jerking oven doors open. Very deliberate and slow deep cutting of meat. Throwing seasoning on food.
Saltbae would be rolling in his grave.
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
These MAFS ads are killing me. It looks like this year theyâve mixed in some uglies, fatties and dippies in with the fame hungry bitches. I just want to watch some tennis.im cunt of a mood.

My backpack has been with me now for 10 years.
Poor thing needs to be retired. Bought a new one today.
Gonna miss old mate. I carry a backpack everywhere, every day except for nights out. Itâs practically attached to me lol
imoldgreeeg@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
My pet peeve is people who spend Thursday coughing all round the office then announce they have covid on Friday đ
tombruzzo@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
First week at the new job has gone alright. I havenât done much and thatâs fine by me.
This could be bearable long term as things pick up. One thing Iâm thinking about is they want to move into ecommerce eventually, and Iâm fine if that never actually happens.
But you know how sometimes a business wants to do something and the demand just isnât there? Youâre the one responsible but it feels like pushing shit uphill no matter what you do?
I think this place would be alright. There would probably be actual interest and I wouldnât get saddled with some project that just isnât working. It could be the big career break Iâve been looking for
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone âš5â© âšweeksâ© ago
Big year for us. The kid turns 18 and doing year 12 VCE. Our 20th Wedding Anniversary. The man turns 50 this year and we go to Japan to celebrate. Itâs all on.
