That storm was wild. Was genuinely worrying the power might go out. I need to buy a power bank that fits my phone…
Melbcat was a trooper though. Normally she hides somewhere and I leave her be. But I was able to put a baby blanket over her body and play music while rubbing her cheek, and she stayed on the bed with me. She’s on a bigger dose of Zylkene because I split larger capsules so maybe it’s helping

A 10,000mah power bank should be sufficient to charge most phones 1.5-2.5 times. 10,000mah powerbanks are fairly cheap at Officeworks. The cheapest models are about $35, though I’d personally go up to the ~$50 ones and get a Belkin or Cygnet branded one, just because I have more experiences with those brands than the black and gold-esque Otto branded ones
20,000mah powerbanks are also quite widely available, and go for about $70 bucks and should be good for a days usage at least (assuming you’re chronically online and had a power guzzling phone), or even up to a week if you rationed your usage and keep it off while not in use. They are bulkier though, so it’s worth weighing up whether you think there’d be a situation you need that much power in, and if the weight and size is worth it
One last piece of advice (sorry, I know you didn't ask)
Regardless of what cables you currently charge your phone with, get a powerbank with USB-A, and USB-C ports. I’m still using my oldest power bank 6 years later and have upgraded phones twice since then. Back then I thought USB-C was for rich people, since my phone only had micro USB. Now I dislike USB-A cables and prefer USB-C to C cables, but I have a massage gun with a USB-C port that will only charge with an A-C cable, and my Fitbit still has a full size USB cable. Also if you’re with mates and want to let them borrow it etc, just easier

I’ve bought some from zyron. They’re massive capacity and really cheap. The only tradeoff is they’re not the most powerful. But you can go anker or ugreen if you need high capacity and enough power to charge something like a laptop

So steamy and hot at my place. Dismantled the Xmas tree and packed it away in a cupboard I pulled stuff out of to sort. Found a Bowser’s Castle Boss Battle Lego set that hadn’t even been opened. At some point one of the kids scribbled on the box a little bit in one corner 😠 not too badly though. Several sellers online selling it, not cheaply either. Considering selling it myself, but then the whole nonsense with scammers etc., don’t know if I can be bothered with it.

I’ll do it if no one else wants to. Will be up until then anyway as waiting on a call my from my son in Florida USA. Some good news to come from there I hope - his wife has just landed a job in Germany so I hope this call will be confirmation that they’re moving there later this year. The difficulty is extracting my son from the toils of NASA without anything too restricting in the form of confidentiality agreements. Which could impact his work options. They’ll be going anyway, but he would like to work in his field if possible.
