    What recent events? People being weidly offended by “woke-ot” and the unnoficial community mod who apologized for being shitty years ago, or is there something new I missed?

    The linked Github doesn’t have any information on why it was forked. The readme hasn’t been updated at all to say anything about why this should be used over normal godot.

      As far as I can tell, it’s what you suggested. I don’t really care about a fork because of a rogue community manager. Their foundation apologized, and I suspect they’ll try to do better.

      A single instance does not a pattern make.

    This whole mess has flooded my youtube feed with people self reporting. If they want an anti-woke version of Godot just so when they publish their bigoted games we can SEE that they are bigoted games, that’s perfectly fine by me. The trash that takes itself out is best.

    That just sounds like any normal day on Twitter. I feel bad for the community managers that still have to put up with that dumpster fire of a platform. This little flame war does nothing to my impression of Godot engine. To be honest I’ve been more worried about reports of rampant bullying.

        Inb4 it’s the same logo but red, and with the same description but with the added line, “Now anti-woke.”

        At least it will be easy to tell which devs support human rights and which ones are pieces of shit.

        I felt like I did hear some people use it in a more “legitimate” or “good faith” way around the time it first was becoming a more commonly used word.

        But then it seemed it quickly just became…this lol. Aside from those couple occurrences years ago, I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone use it IRL.

    Unlike other game engines, godot’s open source nature allows this, but not sure if they will put in some actual innovation on top of the engine instead of lmaoforking.

    Salty developers who got blocked on Twitter, lol. First, who cares what opinion some person has on Twitter. It doesn’t affect or is related to Godot. Without context or being involved, i have to assume the community manager had reason to block those people who got annoying. You guys make problems out of nothing. Also how serious can we take it, if this is documented on knowyourmeme and are events happened on Twitter? About Wokeness of games?

    The fork of Godot won’t change anything of this subject. It only supports toxicity towards the developers and splits the community for no reason. Your fork won’t solve the problem that you got blocked in Twitter.

    I think it’s great to see forks of Godot start happening, so we can see what out-of-the-box additions the community can think of.

    But I will be floored if this repo gets a single feature of substance submitted to it.
