I should try this again. The bending was super fun, but I couldn’t figure out how to move faster than a snail’s pace

Games were $60 for so long everyone things it should be like that forever
- Comment on Bingeing, Weekly, or Batches? Is There a Right Way to Roll Out a Series on Streaming? 1 week ago:
Batches feels like the worst option. All the “what happened?” problems of binging, repeated like 3 or 4 times

- Comment on Fortnite now lets you chat with Darth Vader using generative AI speech [Eurogamer] 1 week ago:
It makes it too difficult to know what is important. In most games you can talk to people and you usually knew if it’s chitchat or plot relevant, generated text blurs the line enough that it’s probably only really useful in specific games like Façade

And then wait almost a decade to release a sequel!
- Comment on Bungie used an artist's work without permission in Marathon 1 week ago:
Allegedly a former employee (contractor?) had tipped the assets and saved them in a texture sheet. When they left nobody knew it was stolen, and they said they’re reviewing assets to make sure there are no more.
It seems like a reasonable explanation to me

I’ve seen fundraisers where they let people pay a few bucks to smash a scrap car with a sledge for a few minutes. Maybe they can get a little return by doing that

- Comment on Nintendo responds to suggestion that AI-generated images used in Mario Kart World [Eurogamer] 2 weeks ago:
Did you mean “other than text?”
I just looked at the images in the article and I agree. I would hope they were placeholder, but that bridge especially has so many weird artifacts it almost looks like they used an older model to generate it

- Comment on Questions about The Sims 3 weeks ago:
Fwiw I still found 4 a lot of fun, it has an enough unique features and the loading screens were much shorter than previous games. But I also didn’t play with dlc, so that probably helped.
2 is my favorite but I do agree with others that 3 is better. It has so much customization built in and the more open world is more fun to play in

It’s series finale is still the most watched live tv event in history. They had 106 million viewers, estimated over 60% of all Us households! Calling it a lesser known or obscure show is an objectively false statement

- Comment on Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a Masterpiece, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is an Indulgence 1 month ago:
Definitely agree! I barely played TotK because, aside from the flying stuff together aspect, I’d already done everything I wanted in BotW. I did my exploring, my climbing, my juggling weapons during combat. I’ve done had more than my fill of those dinkly little shrines.
BotW is better imo because of what it was. TotK was good but (aside from some gimmicks that made driving around a bit more creative and streamlined) more of the same.
Anyway thanks for sharing!
