    Meh. I honestly believe most people don’t try to learn further than “Furries want to fuck animals”. I even was in that camp, although not on my own volition - no one was able to describe to me wtf is this about simply put xD Since learning more, I still don’t buy it but I stopped hating furries xD

      Did you actually ask any furries? I’ve never met a furry who had a difficult time explaining that it’s a fandom for people who enjoy anthropomorphic animals. That’s all there is to it.

        I did. Multiple times. Multiple time got sideye, “it ain’t about fucking animals!” and vague descriptions that pointed to fucking animals.

        Only on the net finally someone explained to me that it’s closer to xenophilia than zoofilia, and that quite big chunk of the fandom isn’t even into the lewd sude of the force.

        And to underline, with amount of furry smut online “people who enjoy anthropomorfic animals” isn’t helping xD

      Do you believe all Catholics are pedophiles? Because there is a lot more Catholics who are charged with child sex abuse than furries charged with animal sex abuse.

  Haven’t encountered people hating furries this much in a long time, I wonder why we’re still hated by some people.

  I suppose it’s like how there’s also furries that hate others they misunderstand as well: I’ve encountered a surprising number of transphobic furries, as they buy the myth that transgender people are pedophiles. I even recently heard a furry tell me that they hate bronies because they think bronies are zoophiles.
