Delusional fans who think their idols made it through sheer talent and work ethic. Sure, there are some who actually come from ordinary working-class families, but this particular group is far from it and one of the worst to use as an example.

ikrrrrr, and it’s not just BP, most k-pop stans wanna make their Biases look self made/like them, which is literally like so parasocial
herrvogel@lemmy.world 2 months ago
I thought I knew what the word bias meant but I’m not so sure anymore.

It’s just your fav member is your bias, not sure of the origin tho.

Trust me, I don’t think @madamLarp@sh.itjust.works knows either.

Are you stroking out?

Translated:
“I agree wholeheartedly, and I’d further say that it’s not a phenomenon limited to Blackpink; most of the superfans of any K-pop group want to believe that they have a great deal in common with their favorite member of the group, and that said member got to their position of fame through hard work and talent alone. This results in an extremely one-sided relationship between performer and fans, where the fans feel a personal relationship with the performer where none does, or possibly could, exist”

“Jennie is my favorite member of BlackPink, but I dislike being a fan of this group because it’s so toxic”
zewm@lemmy.world 2 months ago
Isn’t it just bronies that moved from Japan to Korea?
Warl0k3@lemmy.world 2 months ago
Oh no, it’s way bigger than the bronies ever were. BTS ARMY (depending on estimates) either equals or exceeds the Swifties in size. It’s nuts.
AmbiguousProps@lemmy.today 2 months ago
It’s much bigger and much more intense.

What do you think bronies are?

I’m taking it to mean Jennie is the name of their favorite butt plug (BP) and it destroys their rectum (deadass), but they can’t fully enjoy it because they’re locked up in one of those genital cages (this fandom is a prison). Must be some weird edging kink.

It’s so refreshing to see somebody who is savvy in young-speak.

I still have no idea what the fuck anyone is saying! I can’t tell if something important is happening or if if this is just a conversation between 3 people who had massive strokes

Jennie (an Idol) is my Bias (Favourite Idol) from BP (the group names Blackpink), but this fandom (another word for fan base) is a prison (a place of holding prisoners, used here metaphorically)
