That's what AI is for. /s
Or not really /s. Using limited models to help detect patterns and prioritize can definitely help.

One time, probably fine. But I would avoid doing it all the time. Food remnants just sitting in there for 6-8 hours while you sleep is not good.

PBS Eons on youtube has some. There also some random channels that come up based on the algorithm, but you can try starting there.

Wait really? I used to work at a place where we cleared out HDDs with a degausser. I'm pretty sure that thing wasn't as strong as a car junkyard magnet.

When I browse documentaries on streaming platforms, around 50% are true crime. Then around 20% are about food, 20% about aliens, and the rest comprise the remaining 10%. Producers need to take a break from all the true crime content.

Agreed. The microblogging format is more for one-way communication (i.e. 1 poster to many viewers). Trying to have a discussion or even just reading a discussion on twitter, mastodon, etc. is a terrible experience.

I quickly skimmed through the entire thing and I still don’t understand what “market-based culture” is supposed to be.

I was very confused when I saw the thumbnail of this then read the synopsis. Then I saw the abysmal rating.
- Comment on Did you ever use your Toe to turn one of these on or off? 6 days ago:
It did, but we already had an AVR long before the time small UPS units for home use became affordable enough, so we just added it in there in a series.
- Comment on Did you ever use your Toe to turn one of these on or off? 6 days ago:
My toe was for the AVR and UPS. People who grew up in countries with unstable/unreliable electricity can relate. The family desktop computer was basically: power socket > AVR > UPS > computer, with the first two on the floor (therefore using feet to turn them on), and the system unit on the desk right beside the CRT monitor.

I let the wind take care of it. My driveway and sidewalk are usually clear of clippings within 3-4 days after mowing.

- Comment on Whatever happened to the blockchain/smart contract 'revolution' we were told about? 1 week ago:
Not an expert, but IMO, it’s because it was misused. Cryptocurrency is just one application of blockchain technology, but people equated blockchain to crypto, and crypto was turned into an investment scheme instead of an actual currency. Then came NFTs, which people turned into rugpull scams. And news of the volatility of cryptocurrency and all those NFT scams drove away any chance of regular people adopting anything blockchain-related.

That’s the actual weather the next couple days. I’m trying to pick the least miserable day to mow the front yard because the HOA is coming soon to check around the neighborhood, the only thing they’re good at doing.

- Comment on What do you think is the largest number a human can actually grasp / truly comprehend? 1 week ago:
Anything over a couple million probably. People can comprehend the largest amount with money (instead of apples for example). The fact that most people don’t realize how big of a difference a billion is to a million shows that the average person can really comprehend only up to maybe 7 or 8 digits.
