Don’t forget that they also want to execute anyone who’s trans.

Republican today should say “four, and let’s bomb the Middle East twice!”

What about the American consumer?
“I support the machine that exports war to all over thr world.”
Ganbat@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 days ago
First off, not related to the current chain of comments.
Secondly, as opposed to what? Every American going totally off-grid?
Daft_ish@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 day ago
I dont know. Being more thoughtful. Being less entrenched in ideology and open to making changes that could help your community without being solely motivated by money, for or against.

Seriously. Tired of folks trying to act like they’re on the same level of shitiness. Magats are in a league of their own.
Saleh@feddit.org 2 days ago
Accepting either presented level of shittiness is what got us here in the first place.
Trump couldn’t have done it without Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden or Kamala Harris. The House Reps would struggle more, if it wasn’t for people like Schumer. If Democrats had called out AIPAC over the past twenty years instead of drooling over the opportunity to aid and abet war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide for them, we’d never had the whole “yeah i am voting for the slow genocide” argumentation being somehow “acceptable”.
And the most important thing is that the current Democrats are not going to be a driver for positive change. They are still fighting against moderate progressives like Mamdani and pushing for neoliberal reactionaries like Newsom instead.
Draces@lemmy.world 2 days ago
Maybe, but they’re not helping Republicans as much as people like you

How the Hillary Clinton campaign deliberately “elevated” Donald Trump with its “pied piper” strategy
Catoblepas@piefed.blahaj.zone 2 days ago
By doing what, acknowledging that the Democratic Party isn’t your friend? Basic political awareness isn’t helping Republicans, get a grip.
balderdash9@lemmy.zip 2 days ago
This country has been going to shit since Ronald fucking Reagan. Yes, that means Republicans are terrible. That also means the Democrats are either complicit or powerless to stop it.
clot27@lemmy.zip 1 day ago
That country is a shithole - founded on genocide and funding genocide worldwide since WW2.
MotoAsh@lemmy.world 2 days ago
Complicit. In an embicilic way, but complicit.
III@lemmy.world 1 day ago
Yeah, still not on the same level. But if we want to go with that they are, then using the same logic all conservatives are nazi child rapists… Every last one, they fuck children and want to eradicate non-whites.
clot27@lemmy.zip 1 day ago
Theyre indeed on the same level of shitness for anyone living in global south - infact trump might be somehow unknowingly better as he is working tirelessly to collapse the imperial core.
Doomsider@lemmy.world 1 day ago
Ah yes, because being under Russian or Chinese thumbs would be so much better. /S

It really is fascinating just how stupid it can get
WraithGear@lemmy.world 1 day ago
for a large enough amount, less bad is not an acceptable option any longer.
MBech@feddit.dk 1 day ago
And that is completely understandable, but this post seems to insinuate that the republicans don’t want to bomb the middle east, when in reality, the republicans also absolutely want to bomb the middle east, while ALSO wanting to implement a fascist dictatorship in the USA.
Republicans are currently funding Israel. Republicans are currently aiding a genocide. Republicans are currently killing democracy in USA. Republicans are currently threatening their allies with war.
Only focusing on how horrible the democrats are (and I agree they are), takes the spotlight away from the much much worse shit the republicans are currently doing, in addition to doing exactly what the democrats are doing.
Karjalan@lemmy.world 1 day ago
They want to bomb the middle east, but harder.
It’s not even that they’re “the same”, it’s that they have similar approaches, but one is much worse.
Everyone lolmemes about republicans dropping bombs and Democrats dropping bombs with rainbow flags like it’s some deep insight, but all this does is massively benefit the right.
It sews disengagement from the left and people “protest vote”, then the people that do the thing they’re protesting against worse than get into power.
Unfortunately in a two party system, such as the US, it’s better to vote for the less bad one than neither, even if the one you vote for doesn’t do everything you’d like them to
WraithGear@lemmy.world 1 day ago
i think the red hat is carrying the assumption that they also want to bomb children, mainly because republicans claim that as a feature of their rule. this cartoon wants to emphasize their stupidity as the focal point.
